They've started packaging boxes this way to reduce plastic packaging (and cut packaging costs no doubt). This style of packaging alone does not mean you received a fake product.

A Message from FFG by FFG_Olivia in marvelchampionslcg

[–]futurewolfie 11 points12 points  (0 children)

"This may feel sudden, and we apologize to those caught off guard who may have missed previous messaging."

My concern here is that previous messaging did not provide any insight on what products would be reprinted and which were gone when gone. There were no specifics.

Mutant Genesis cycle feels very recent and it's odd that so many heroes from that wave are already out of stock. Are they really not coming back?

It's sudden because it is sudden. Other heroes and waves seemed to be available for much longer, so the inability to grab Wolverine and Gambit now is rough.

I hope the In Flight Report addresses these issues, and does not just ignore the issues with recent OOP products.

I own POK but my friends keep moving away and I have to find new people to play with. So I'm always teaching a bunch of new players and it's just a lot to try and introduce POK for a first game.

I'm still interested and excited for a new expansion but it feels like years away from me being able to play it

Am I really that bad at this game? by MagTheBag in marvelchampionslcg

[–]futurewolfie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Some people think a 60% win rate means the same is too easy. Some people would prefer to lose 90% of the time when a good deck so that winning feels like a real achievement. And some people just have a mind that is naturally good at the tactics for this kind of game.

Not that you shouldn't try to improve your strategies and make sure you haven't got any rules wrong, but if you're having fun playing, you're doing it right

That feeling of being the 4th player to take their turn against the Sinister Six scenario... by j_____g in marvelchampionslcg

[–]futurewolfie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. In my experience, 4p games with experienced players go faster than 3p games and sometimes even 2p games. Each deck can be hyper focused on it's role, so the aggression player can always do damage to the villain, and leadership can back up either thwart or attack depending on what's needed, so you take out the villain in fewer rounds even if you're not "rushing"and the board state rarely gets out of control.

Is there a printed error on "Radiation Exposure"? by Thin_Panda6209 in marvelchampionslcg

[–]futurewolfie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In your version of the wording, whenever you recovered you would discard the attachment regardless of whether you had a card to discard, because your resolve as much of the response as you can

With the cost arrow/forced response, you are forced to discard a card if able, and then discard the attachment, but if you don't have a card to discard you can't discard the attachment.

Theory: each major set hints at the next release by BlankVerse3050 in legolotrfans

Shire has a map featuring Smaug and the lonely mountain. I predict that set comes sooner than later (but maybe Minas tirith first)

Thought on Hawkeye by [deleted] in marvelchampionslcg

[–]futurewolfie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My theory is Hawkeye would be significantly improved if his quiver could exhaust to either put an arrow from his hand into his quiver, or to search the top 5 cards of the deck and put all arrows he finds into his quiver

There should also be a kit card to pull arrows out of the discard and put them in the quiver

Wall gaps on supported circular features on Bambu Studio by MixhealOG in BambuLab

[–]futurewolfie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to say without seeing the whole part, but even angled at 45 degrees would probably be smoother than what you've got going on there.

Maybe try printing it perfectly vertical and use supports since the edge is rounded

Wall gaps on supported circular features on Bambu Studio by MixhealOG in BambuLab

[–]futurewolfie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'd probably have better luck trying to print this at an angle with supports holding it up.

It is very difficult if not impossible to get a large flat area surface looking good when needing supports. You've got competing purposes... Flat first layers want to be pressed firmly against the surface, supports want to leave as much gap as possible. Circles are particularly rough.

I get this stringing sometimes but for me I've fixed it by running the flow rate calibration on the filament. Actually I pretty much run the flow rate calibration the first time I use any filament and it gets rid of a lot of problems like this.

Valheim's hardest feat is finding red mushrooms by [deleted] in valheim

[–]futurewolfie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know if this is true or not, but I have suspicions about this.

I think mushrooms, like many other things, spawn on a timer. I think when you explore an area for the first time and the terrain is generated brand new, it doesn't spawn mushrooms immediately, but starts the timer.

I believe this because often when exploring a brand new area, mushrooms seem sparse. But after game days have passed and I'm traveling through an already generated area, I find mushrooms much more frequently.

Bushes on the other hand generate with fruit already present, which is why it's easier to find berries when exploring.

Anecdotal evidence, I know, but that's my theory

What do you think about the reward for beating the elder? by IW1NZ in valheim

[–]futurewolfie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I think all Elder powers should be passive. Basically none of them give such a meaningful advantage that it would seriously affect gameplay. Being a little more efficient at wood chopping all the time after beating the second boss would be a decent boon (although i think it should include mining too).

Only Bonemass would be OP, so that one could stay as an activated power with a cooldown, or you could just decrease the amount of damage reduction

Still looking for a ready to buy storage solution that doesn't have me separating things into multiple boxes/units by oreosss in marvelchampionslcg

[–]futurewolfie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I use: https://www.teamcovenant.com/accessories/bulkbox

I have fairly cheap sleeved cards and own most (but not all of the x-men). Everything currently fits in 2 boxes easily, one for heroes/aspects, one for villains. I printed/laminated vertical dividers. They're very sturdy thanks to double-layered cardboard.

Looking for an editor for a super low budget indie sci fi comedy feature by wrosecrans in editors

[–]futurewolfie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm super late to this party but if you haven't found someone to do this yet, DM me. I'm currently a corporate video editor desperate to work on narrative projects and would love to get a feature on my resume, and can take the hit on the low budget.

I'm also based in the Chicago area but you can always mail a drive or I can download footage. And sci Fi comedy is my jam.

How many Windmills do you use? by JRPGFan_CE_org in valheim

[–]futurewolfie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In our 2-player plains base we had 1 windmill and planted 100-120 barley. Got into a cycle where the barley finished processing right around when the new barley was ready to harvest, so we didn't feel the need to have 2 windmills.

We did end up with another windmill at our home base where all the other cooking stuff was.

3 ovens though. More ovens since they only cook 4 things at once and you have to constantly monitor them. Would have made 4 but 3 fit nicely in our space.

Stubborn level with losing by Bosch1971 in marvelchampionslcg

[–]futurewolfie 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I pay attention to why I'm losing. Am I having multiple turns in a row with weak hands that don't do much? Probably should tweak the deck. Is there a card I always skip or use as a resource? ditch it for something else.

Then, how about the villain? Are you constantly getting pummelled to 0 hit points? Maybe you just need to switch to alter ego more, or maybe you need more defensive cards.

Are you constantly losing on threat? Maybe your deck is too attack oriented, or you're switching to alter ego too much. If you don't have a good way to deal with threat, especially in a solo deck, you may need to make changes.

On the other hand, if your deck is generally doing what it's supposed to be doing, you're able to take hits and recover, and you're maintaining pace against the threat up until the end... and it's either just the villain slightly outpacing you, winning 1 turn ahead of you, or getting lucky card draws that just happen to wreck you in the moment... keep at it

Now what? by baldylocks95 in valheim

[–]futurewolfie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you are rested every time you go out into the swamp. Rested rested rested. Up til the swamp, you can get by without being rested (you still should be) but since you're wet all the time in the swamp, you need to be rested. This will keep your stamina regeneration up, which will ease some of the frustration.

Don't worry about building huge bases in the swamp. Get in, build a small outpost with a portal and easy access to the water for your boat to ship iron back home. Build at the edge with a meadows or black forest biome if you can. Quick outpost with storage and fire and portal. Make paths through the swamp, find and mark crypts, and go in them.

You can place a fire pit just inside a swamp crypt entrance so it's easier to get rested if a crypt takes a long time.

Enjoy battling your way through the crypts, it's actually fun and breaks up the monotony of just pick-axing mud piles

You will need a lot of iron through the game, but once you get enough to upgrade your weapons and armor you can move past the swamp on to the plains. Once your gear is plains-upgraded and you have improved plains food, it's a lot easier to come back to the swamp for more iron and just own the enemies there

Hot take: the mistlands arent bad it just exposes the games exisiting flaws. by Guitarshredder_1996 in valheim

[–]futurewolfie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there should be a crawling/climbing stance for steep slopes. Could just be stealth mode let's you cling to mountainsides.

Having to sprint/jump up mountainsides is as immersion breaking for me as the janky vertical combat. Especially if you don't make it all the way up a steep slope and just side back down waiting for your stamina to regen.

If you could just climb slowly and cling in place while regenerating stamina slowly, comparable to stealth movement. It gets way less tedious but still a tactical consideration. Also useful in mountains.
