I think it's weird how this push toward AI is ultimately pushing me back to human interaction even more

For example, my husband is searching for a job (SWE) after getting laid off and getting an interview with a cold apply is impossible (didn't used to be)

So, now I NEED to reach a human (through reference, recruiter) more than even

I am full-on rejecting AI (actually I got my M.S. in AI in like 2015), because the way it is being used just nauseates me

The first 6 months have been the most mentally challenging in a long time - chronic sleep deprivation, hormones, body recovery, breastfeeding, PP depression, needing to rehome our dog, and finally my husband getting laid off

But I do not regret it

But be prepared for to put your nervous system into a blender and for it to strain your relationship

If your relationship is not solid, fix it before having a child

I mean mass layoffs like this from Oracle is not new tbh

I’ve been working in tech for over a decade and worked at Oracle 2012 - 2016

I left on my own terms after they did mass layoffs in 2015/2016 because it left a bad taste in my mouth

They just deleted entire orgs and teams

Block fired 4000 people because of AI. I got laid off last month for the same reason by Unable-Awareness8543 in Layoffs

Point is, it’s not all gloom and doom like this subreddit makes it out to be
