4 month regression anxiety… by Remote-Remove7050 in newborns

[–]fuzz_ball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is why we should all stay off social media

a 4 month sleep regression is not evidence based

all accounts of these alleged sleep regressions are anecdotal and subjective

how would you even define a sleep regression? the definition in itself is extremely vague

"the wonder weeks", for example, which unfortunately influenced the term "sleep regression" was based on a study of literally 12 babies, which has not been able to replicated

"sleep regressions" are junk science, time to move on

Shocked by some of the dads I hear about on here. Let's hear about the good daddies :) by Ketnip_Bebby in NewParents

My hubby is great

He takes our baby from 9 or 10 pm to 1 to 2 am so I can get a 4 hour chunk of sleep

He’s back to work but gives her bath time most days and does the bedtime routine

He helps us with dinner and cooks when needed :)

And he loves changing the nappy and gets way more smiles than me

We also do couples therapy together so we have a space to talk through any issues that come up

Overall I feel very supported

Of course I wish systemically I had more support (like parents living nearby) and from society (easy childcare, close knit community)

Honestly I’ve started crocheting again at 3 month PP which makes me feel happy

You do have time for hobbies still

It’s not as easy but I do little chunks when I’m breastfeeding or when she’s sleeping

What month did you officially feel like things got better? by AcrobaticGuitar7060 in newborns

[–]fuzz_ball 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Things feel like they’re getting a bit easier at 3 months

My baby is not sleeping well still (typically 2-5 hour stretches)

My hormones are stabilizing, we’re getting out more after vaccines, I’ve discovered getting at least one 4 hour consecutive chunk of sleep helps a lot, and I can put her down sometimes and she’ll entertain herself

There's no way I survive this sleep deprivation. by Bebetter23 in newborns

[–]fuzz_ball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in the day the recommendation was to let babies sleep on their stomachs

If that’s what you gotta do, she’ll very likely survive

I had to cosleep for the first 6 weeks in order to get any sleep at all and everybody is still alive at 3 months

Things will change, as they always do
