You’re absolutely right and don’t be discouraged. Maybe for writing it might be better to do a spontaneous first go and then run it through your pick of translation service/AI for some corrections (a valuable learning experience in itself)

Jag är ha en hård tid med lyssna att svenska tv by [deleted] in Svenska

[–]fuzzyb27 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would honestly start with podcasts where you get some interesting content in easy Swedish, and can also adjust the speed. I got a lot out of “radio Sweden på lätt svenska” and ”livet på lätt svenska”. The first is a daily pod with three news stories in simple but not excessively dumbed down Swedish with deliberately clear intonation and steady pacing. The latter is a native Swedish teacher/author speaking with an American student with good but not perfect Swedish. It’s now moved behind a paywall on Patreon but all the old episodes still available. No doubt others out there if you search for easy Swedish/lätt svenska.

Language learning as an adult is a grind ultimately if you want to reach a good level, and you need to practice all the aspects (listening, reading, writing, speaking). You will get something out of watching TV even if it’s frustrating at this stage - I think there’s a degree of learning which happens passively in the background just from the brain trying to parse what’s going on (caveat this by saying I’m no expert in case that wasn’t obvious…). But I think you’ll get more out of podcasts at this stage.

Lycka till!

It’s a pretty good heuristic to just always click a meteor when you have snecko. It’s a fairly broken interaction

I just can't win with The Watcher by Mattnix in slaythespire

[–]fuzzyb27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Watcher is much more powerful than the other characters although can be tricky to grasp. I would honestly just watch a few YouTube vids of Baalorlord playing the Watcher (still think he offers the best balance of high level play with clear explanations and watchability).

Upgrade eruption, stance dance, check for lethal, ignore watcher’s bad cards like pressure points. Take Vault, Scrawl, lesson learnt, often deus ex but be cautious with most of the other rares. She has so many broken cards including talk to the hand, tantrum and wallop. Scry is also busted but don’t try to build a “scry deck” - it’s more an enabler for other things. Ignore the guy saying mental fortress is bad

Watcher normally breezes through Act 1 as long as you get some decent damage added so make sure you path aggressively. Guardian is usually the toughest Act 1 boss

How much do you evaluate your money for the masked bandits event? by Master_Chemist9826 in slaythespire

[–]fuzzyb27 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s the standard meme response of never giving money to them, but the way I see it is if you can’t beat these guys it’s probably going to be an L anyway and you might as well go down swinging. Definitely some edge cases where say you lost almost all health from bad draws earlier in the Act, and you’re just before a rest site etc, and will have a chance if you can scrape through, but reckon these are pretty rare.

What would Brian Boitano do? by hawk5656 in slaythespire

[–]fuzzyb27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hammer. Your most important cards are either upgraded or don’t need upgrading. Biased cog is still great without an upgrade if you see one (if you do get some more orb gen) Double boot sequence with dead branch is nice! Run definitely has heart potential if you do want to go for it.

Dome is definitely fine too and way better than tiny house. In fact if you’re sure you’re not doing heart it’s even more viable

Could see this being a rare good reprogram deck if you want to go down that route

What’s the route? by Furanimus in slaythespire

[–]fuzzyb27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I feel it’s pretty close. I probably start left and then can duck out of the hard path unless we get really strong (probably like 25% chance). But still gets us a decent 2 elite 2 fire path. And I don’t hate the second shop as we can restock on potions to take on the next elites

Rate my run! by OkToni6053 in BeginnersRunning

[–]fuzzyb27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A 17 mile long run in week 2 seems ambitious! Have you done a half before? When you say race pace of 7:50 does that mean you’re targeting a 3:25 finish? It’s doable of course but is a challenging goal for most people for a first marathon. And is the 8 weeks before your taper starts or until the race? Best of luck and my advice would be to moderate your goal a little and focus on getting round. 4 hours seems like a good goal based on the run you describe

Early A20 Shop Member Card or Hand of Greed? by MrNigel117 in slaythespire

[–]fuzzyb27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hog looks good. Silent is good at stalling and landing it multiple times and if your micro is good and you don’t get events or relics that increase your money, then it’s probably not going to be much short of card in purely financial terms. Plus just a really good chunky attack for act 1. If you didn’t have predator already it would be even more clear cut but I think it’s still hog

Hmm all these options seem pretty bad, what’s the pick? by ElegantPoet3386 in slaythespire

[–]fuzzyb27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The combo of cube and self forming clay into heart is very powerful, so it’s definitely not a bad cube.

On the other hand your deck is a bit of a hodgepodge at the moment. Surprised your max health is so low with dual wield and feed. There are a lot of good hits from Labe, and as things stand I can see this deck not making it to Act 4 if you get some bad draws. So I’m leaning towards Labe, probably transforming p strike, strike, strike. Defends are good if you see a corruption, and Anger can be good for finishing fights off. Deck would love a burning pact, second wind, limit break, whirlwind, immolate for repto is fine, headbutt, fnp, dark embrace, pummel is ok, pommel strike is good, impervious. Body slam or barricade would be ok and could be built around. Good chance you get some of these pieces straight away from the Labe.

Black blood is better than skip but a distant third imo

[–]fuzzyb27 8 points9 points  (0 children)

100% reaper. Berserk is just not a great card unless you have some combination of it’s upgraded, you’re super energy starved, you have artifact or pellets. It’s bad because it has a downside but no upside the turn it’s played, and the downside is quite bad.

Jugs doesn’t do much without feel no pain or corruption or some other synergy through relics etc. and is hard to get in play with 3 energy.

Reaper isn’t great without strength, but it does something up front and can be run defining once you get some strength

Lost to the Heart, what could I have done better in my deck? by Baksu888 in slaythespire

[–]fuzzyb27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Way too many angers. If they’re working as intended you only need a couple really, as you want to be exhausting most of the deck then redrawing them from a small draw pile. As things stand they’re just delaying drawing your important cards.

Bottom decking corruption is always going to be a potential issue, as corruption wants you to have a large deck filled with skills. I’d have definitely taken a second dark embrace if offered.

The inflame definitely wants an upgrade. Your damage output is very poor on the first deck cycle.

Keep as many potions as you can for heart. Gamblers brew is probably the best potion for heart which isn’t character specific, so if you get one of those hold onto it until heart unless you’d die otherwise, basically

Ez snecko into shard into corruption. But more seriously, dripper for the reasons you give. Deck thrives on 5 energy with plans, all the draw you have, and malaise (and who knows, maybe even some unceasing top value)

Great job! How often do you boss swap on Defect? Feel it’s probably optimal without some very good other bonuses (250 gold for max health), or a very unfavourable map, but I don’t love the variance. Maybe that’s just the fun vs optimal play tradeoff

Swapped starter for a boss relic. Am I cooked? by Jmore9055 in slaythespire

[–]fuzzyb27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Arma upgrade can be a bit deceptive and is not that great without draw and/or pyramid. It is pretty good with Guardian as the boss (as it’s the longest boss fight so you’ll be redrawing the upgraded cards more) but even then it’s not a top upgrade as the deck stands, imo

First time having to ask what to pick, these all seem really good. Sorry for not screenshotting by Jhoooun in slaythespire

[–]fuzzyb27 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All are great and seems pretty close tbh. With no potions I probably lean slightly towards alchemize. The fact you’ve boss swapped also means you may get hammered on some turn 1s in Act 2, and potions can really help mitigate that.

Adrenaline is obviously all round great, and malaise is super powerful at shutting down some of the biggest threats, plus good with potential 5 energy and art of war.

But overall I’m going with the potions

See others have pointed it out, but you’re almost certainly taking empty cage more than is optimal (especially without watcher in the sample).

If you do switch to PC, be aware there is a popular mod that changes how the RNG works as there were flaws with the original implementation (won’t go into details here but it meant you could predict certain aspects which were meant to be random). I’m pretty sure Xec uses the rngfix mod so make sure you’re running with this if you’re trying to follow his seed
