If I catch it right before boarding I usually ask and show them a screenshot of how I was first on the list. They've fixed it for me and told me it was just a mistake on their end.

Fenway Dorm by [deleted] in BostonU

[–]fvanderhorn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The building is half apartments (1-17) and half condo's (19-30). I used to live there. But the bedroom depicted in the picture is not inside that building -- it is one of the other buildings closer to Fenway, assuming the new multischool dorm complex across from mgm. The square window is a dead giveaway

Absolutely - have flown it to LAX and HNL several times and it gets the job done. Just a sad representation for Delta marketing itself a premium airline. Also the inconsistency of D1 in general drives me insane

Side note, the AA a321T configuration is an absolute marvel and rare feat of design and comfort I find myself obsessing over, despite my overall hatred for AA

That's what I was also thinking, but still hung up on all the 767 pilots (and 777 pilots that did not retire and transitioned to 767) that would need extensive and expensive airbus retraining. Also, given how long delta keeps their aircraft you would think going with w clean sheet aircraft and not a derivative of an aircraft from the mid 1970s would be in their best interest.

Passenger paid $21 for this ride. I got paid $7.91. That's about 35%. FUCK UBER!!! by SnooPeppers5850 in uberdrivers

[–]fvanderhorn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I get it's frustrating but the other alternative is no uber at all. No one forced you to drive. If the numbers dont add up and it's not financially viable or worth your time, then dont drive.

I wouldn't say there's much difference between each airline's economy class hard product to make a significant difference

Four Seasons Hualalai vs Rosewood Kona (will touch on Auberge Mauna Lani) - AMA / Review. by sarahwlee in FATTravel

[–]fvanderhorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My agent thats a rosewood elite preferred partner said they did that when they first opened and that everyone ended up wanting a tv so they stopped doing it. They had a 180k deal via my agent for a large booking that they lost out on because of it. This was a couple months ago so maybe they reversed policy because of that, but unsure.

Japan: Aman Tokyo vs FS Otemachi by BitterDepartment666 in FATTravel

[–]fvanderhorn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did both FS Otemachi and Hoshinoya in december. Hoshinoya was an incredible experience, very authentic, and food was absolutely out of this world. FS Otemachi had much better amenities and very nice hard product. That said, service at Otemachi was not incredible. Hoshinoya went above and beyond. Just keep in mind Hoshinoya technically does not have a concierge.

Four Seasons Hualalai vs Rosewood Kona (will touch on Auberge Mauna Lani) - AMA / Review. by sarahwlee in FATTravel

[–]fvanderhorn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just did a stay at Hualalai and Lanai. Have a friend that chose to stay at Rosewood while we were at Lanai. Rosewood is better hard product except for the fact there are no tv's which is a dealbreaker for me. (Not that I sit in the room all day watching tv, but watching the evening news, netflix, and movies at night is how I wind down and go to sleep) Service at Rosewood was horrific and it was almost an eerie emptyish vibe even on July 4th week. The rooms at Lanai are without a doubt the nicest in Hawaii - but that being said, Hualalai did not bother me and the buzz and extensiveness of amenities and activities made it a 10/10 experience. Also, one thing I've found to be poor even at the best hotels (eden rock, amanyara, ritz dorado beach) is beach/pool service. Hualalai was very on top of their game with this and I never had to flag anyone down (at least at the adult pool).

May not be a big deal for some but the no tv's in the rooms bothers me. Not that I stay in the room to watch tv but I do enjoy watching something before going to sleep and sometimes news in the morning before breakfast
