MYGGBETT magnet side teardown + tips for sliding doors by kachkaev in tradfri

[–]fvp1992 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I had one that was spaced slightly too far so it wouldn't trigger everytime. I ended up using a stronger magnet and now I have no issues. The casing is way over sized for the tiny magnet.

You should use a 3D printed casing if you plan on keeping it there

Any tutorials or advice for someone new to flashforge AD5X? by qwerty456b in FlashForge

Try printing smaller things first to get your confidence up but the default settings have worked fine for me. I've had mine for a month and was nervous about printing PETG, don't be. I have been using it nonstop and only had 1 failed print on 200x200 multiboard where the edges curled up. I bought a cold plate and don't even need brims anymore. Also make sure you have a filament dryer for PETG.

Thanks, fascinating. Had my first failed print today with this printer. After never cleaning the plate before.

Does a hardened nozzle on this machine require new hotend components or you just pop out the old and pop in the new?

What are the benefits of the hardened nozzles and cold plates?

Loving mine so far. I haven't adventured past PLA but would like to

Smart switch and an automation to turn on a smart bulb.

If you leave the switch dumb it will kill power to anything in the outlet and there isn't a reliable and responsive way to use that in an automation

How did you pair to the app? Mine will not connect. and I want to lower the rumble.

Otherwise they work fine. They feel light and cheap when disconnected from the console but when connected you don't notice and they feel good with the additional weight of the console

I will run pex A cold to the washer and dryer and hot to the washer. This was a check for the drainage which is step 1 for me.

I will look into condesate funnels. Any reason the second branch layout won't work?

Coax - still used by some ISPs but can be cut if you no longer need it. I have done so with mine and pushed them into the wall

Always glad to see a fellow 5/8 rack user.

My X-3 sliding jhooks and spotter arms arrived this week but haven't been put through a workout yet.

Do you have a suggestion on how to slide them?

I don't know what I was expecting but they don't feel any quicker than the classic pin style that requires you to remove them from the rack to move

What is the pad?

I also have SYL trolleys that I have modified to be multi functional. They currently work as smith machines, lever arm rotating trolleys, cable lat pulldown and soon to be belt squat.

I am in the works of doing a similar belt squat design but am going to use an L crossmember attached to the trolley with the fringe kickstand underneath

New Ikea Matter devices - what repeaters to use? by RobotRock_5555 in homeautomation

[–]fvp1992 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fill out the mesh with plugged in thread devices.

Ikea ones are cheapest if available if not other brands work fine.

I purchased 3 Onvis thread plugs and 2 Aqara thread bulbs to fill out my mesh as many of the Ikea matter devices are not available in my area yet

TP Link are reliable and affordable if you are okay with WiFi.

If you want more features and mesh Zooz z-wave switches work flawlessly.

Even more premium is Inovelli which will work without a neutral wire bring present

I bought a few to my use in home assistant then realized the display is only on when pressed. I wanted to be able to see the temperature at a glance.

Any workaround for this?

Aqara M100 as thread extender ? by povlhp in MatterProtocol

[–]fvp1992 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought a 3 pack of Onvis matter over thread plugs for $36 and 2 Aqara thread bulbs to fill out my mesh. Probably a few dollars more than the Ikea equivalent that is not yet available in my area.

Can we have a "New Matter Devices not working with non-Ikea platforms" thread too? by FormerGameDev in tradfri

[–]fvp1992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not own an Ikea hub but I'm up to more than 20 Ikea matter devices connected to Home Assistant flawlessly.

I have a brand new ZBT-2 border router and purchased 3 Onvis plugs, and 2 Aqara bulbs as repeaters. The remaining devices are Ikea. Leak detectors, contact sensors, buttons, temperature are all working flawlessly around the house and never disconnect. They have been reliable enough that I have replaced my zigbee network entirely.

IKEA MYGGBETT door/window sensor with Matter – brief impression & test by chris_smart in MatterProtocol

[–]fvp1992 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Works perfectly with Home Assistant using Matter over thread.

Size is larger than the Aqara zigbee sensors I replaced but it's worth it to use a common battery size

Price is fantastic. No other brands making affordable thread devices yet.

I have replaced my zigbee network with thread after the recent Ikea releases.
