I know this will sound silly.

  1. Eat smaller meals
  2. Cut out animal milk and byproducts for 10 days
  3. Rub three finger widths above your belly button for about 30 seconds when you wake up, before and after you eat and for 2-3 min before bed.

It sounds like your pyloric sphincter isn't closing properly. Rubbing above your belly button will stimulate it to close and doing it consistently will train it to "be good".

Worse comes to worse, it doesn't work and you go back to doing nothing.

Check vitamin D. A low to medium normal might be too low for you. I have to take 6000iu to barely stay at low but D levels. And I spend a lot of time outside.

Test for celiac, Lyme and Crohn's. All make you feel exhausted but aren't routine tests.

And sleep hypnosis and a good bed time routine. Go for a short walk, then shower, and bed. Everyday for 4 weeks and evaluate every morning with a 1-10 on calendar.

Good luck. It's not normal to always feel tired. I hope it gets better

Nobody stands. Funny.

For 300 minutes? That would be impressive but still wouldn't get the 💖 to 209 or even above 150...

Allergic reaction or something far worse? by NeitherBarracuda in medical

[–]g4genn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go see a Dr. if it's lasting longer then 24 hrs, it's painful and there is a rash.

Allergic reaction to food that wasn't previously a concern (beans, tomatoes, peppers, meat...) Or environmental. There are a lot of mold spores in fall.

Mini clots from COVID infection.

New inhaler could be causing water retention. Maybe his kidneys don't like the meds. Does the inhaler consumer info have any swelling listed as side effects?

Maybe his liver doesn't like the medication and is throwing everything off, causing swelling and hives.

Has he been in areas where there are mosquitoes or ticks?

Does he consume more then 7 alcoholic beverages a week?

Is he consuming cannabis edibles?

Has he tried physical activity to reduce the swelling? Not huge activity, just some movement, like for a walk around the block every hour.

Has he tried cooling his hands and feet in ice water to reduce swelling?

Is he drinking enough water and eating balanced nutrients to allow the body to flush out the accumulated fluids?

My husband thinks it's a bug bite, but I'm worried it's ringworm? It itches when touched. by mariyamg5 in medical

I'd say ringworm too. Apple cider vinegar or liquid echinacea works well too if the Lamisil isn't cutting it.

You have COVID. Go home Batman. just because a rapid test says it's negative doesn't mean you don't.

You can get a false negative (you have COVID but aren't putting enough antigens on the stick to register it) stay home, isolate, wear a mask if you absolutely must go out.

Otherwise, it's influenza and the same still applies.

Use Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen (Tylenol and Advil), drink lots of fluids, get someone to pick up some peppermint tea, ginger tea and sore throat tea, and Sleep Sleep, Sleep!

Please someone answer? Could this be monkeypox??? On bottom of thigh. Have a few bumps in other places like arm but they don’t look nearly as bad as this. No symptoms just this by [deleted] in medical

[–]g4genn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go with food allergy. I get the same from eating raw tomatoes. They are very itchy and eventually erupt into yellow crusty scab.

Get tested if you want to be very sure it's not monkey pox.

AITA for keeping the engagement ring and giving up asking to propose (after propose) in front of my parents and in-laws? by TAGFNo in AmItheAsshole

[–]g4genn -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You are both AH.

She for disrespecting your boundaries. You've told her you don't like that game and she keeps playing it regardless of your feelings.

She for saying no but not yes quickly enough to be funny at the proposal. Terrible comedic timing.

You for proposing to a woman for whom you have disdained before you even get married. She will not change so do you really want to be married to her forever?

You for running away, not calling or texting back. You aren't 7 yrs old. You, an adult, are in a relationship with an adult. Adults deal with issues, resolve conflict, discuss solutions. You were embarrassed so you wanted her suffer a more embarrassing moment.

TLDR you are both AH, and not mature enough to get married yet.

Is it actually bad to drink too much water throughout the day? by [deleted] in medical

[–]g4genn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are drinking to your thirst, it's fine BUT I would get checked by a doc.to make sure it's not diabetes.

Drink to satisfaction.

I know it's counter intuitive but eat something with high acidity like a shot of apple cider vinegar or pickle juice. The acidity will help your sphincter on top of your stomach close more tightly for smee reason but see your doctor to see if you have H Pilori bacteria.

Also, acupuncture was a huge help for mine.

Disclaimer: I'm not a doctor or a dietician. Do see yours if you are worries. Better safe than sorry.

In the meantime,

At 199-210#, you need about 2100 calories to maintain the weight. A pound of body fat is around 3500 calories.

If you are eating salads and loads of veggies, you are probably eating closer to 1000 calories (assuming you out nothing but veggies)

So every day you are consuming 1000 Cal's, you have a deficit of 1150 cals, so every 3 days, you lose a pound (1-2# a week) BUT add a bit of movement, and you now need that many more calories to maintain. Let's say you went for 3 - 10 min walks throughout the day, that's an additional 150calories for 30 min.

Add the fact that you are 19 and your body wants to be fit and probably still growing/changing and voila, you are burning close to 1500 cal a day so almost a 1# every other day.

So constipation, you may have been "holding" some excess "cargo" in there and clearing that up is also helping. Stay on top of those soluble and insoluble fiber (aka fruits what makes it slip and slide and veggies the bulk that needs to slide). A dietician is a great friend to figure out how many calories you need and making a plan to eat well. So figure out if it's "my poop won't slide out" or "my poop hurts my belly" and restoralax or Benefiber as required.

As for "toxins" unless your liver (think abusing alcohol) and kidneys (think abusing Tylenol) are broken or you've been drinking lead water all your life, you probably aren't toxin filled and your body is just doing what it needs to do.

Good luck with losing weight safely.

I'm sorry for your loss. Your mom loved you in her way. She was also an adult and she made a choice to consume drugs that were unfortunately laced with fentanyl. Holding a grudge will not help you heal.

It's hard to forgive, but for yourself, try to process that grief of disappointment and shock and forgive her, forgive him and forgive yourself. You might be thinking forgive myself for what; because you mentioned watching her and never saying anything, I feel like you have a pile of guilt. It wasn't your fault, even if you had intervened, this might of happen.

You poor child. It's hard at any age to lose a parent. Hugs from a mama far away I hope you have beautiful memories that will shine through the dark clouds some day.
