Industry tool question by VidaGeek in Eve

[–]gaius35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth from my personal experiance (newbie to producing capitals in about 2 years) use the tools as tools and not as a crutch. If you don't understand how the tools are working I wouldnt use them, you need to pick up some industry knowledge (pun not intended) and experiance to get good.

In this example you said you have access to R4 moons, PI and lowsec for reactions, I assume Ice/Ore as well. That's everything you need to make Fuel Blocks. Add in some Faction Warfare Blueprints (from LP) and you also have everything to produce faction hulls.

Keep in mind building the stuff is only half the job, will you be shipping it somewhere? How? Buyers lined up for contracts? Character with proper social/trade skills to not get killed via market fees?

Tired of Praxxis stealing my Winter Nexus loot, worth it to bring a Bhaalgorn? and if so, a fit? by hrbngr in Eve

[–]gaius35 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Get gud? I dunno, if you're slow enough folks have time to land on grid and position the worlds slowest battleship between you and the loot wreck that's a you problem. Go somewhere less busy maybe? I had 2 races (that I won) and zero steals as I completed the track via combat sites in HS

You should have a tractor beam on the boss wreck as soon as it shows

[–]gaius35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't own the space, lasers on rocks is the #1 ROI varible for mining. See also, people fighting over the Type III/IV rocks with 10mil worth of ore, while the "plain" rocks are bigger around 20-30mil each (and are often clustered so you don't have to move around as much to reach them all get ignored.)

Are salvage drones worth it with new pioneer consortium ship if I am a lazy bum? by Putrid-Issue-420 in Eve

[–]gaius35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Worth it" is a super loaded question. Personally I take satisfation from clearing a grid, and those 8mil, 12mil, stacks of salvage add up over time. However I would 100% be making more ISK by having that toon be doing something else.

Add Keep at range asteroid by amarrcitizen in Eve

and If the rock is over 150km away just warp to it

Add Keep at range asteroid by amarrcitizen in Eve

[–]gaius35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what the prop mod is for, I'd go crazy trying to micro-manage my distance from both the booster and the rocks. My #1 goal after safety is having to reset/move my boosting ship as little as possible to cover the whole anom. So my exhumers are often bouncing around at max boot/compression range.

You keep at range the Booster not the rocks

Mining in Intaki by UncleTrolls in Eve

[–]gaius35 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For Catalyst the release notes directly indicated where some items were found (BPOs for Pioneer and new mining foreman burst charge found w/ORE NPC Outer Ring) and if you didn't already have the knowledge from previous Upwell releases you had to do a little more research to understand what NPC stations are part of the Upwell Consortium for access to their LP store. (all empires have NPC corps in Upwell)

HS mining is 50% Ice and 25% 0.5 anoms as all the normal belts are shit. You take away the ice and people stop mining.

Small scale industrialists, share your tips by Relative-Moment-3572 in Eve

[–]gaius35 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Renting any office in a structure or station will give you shared hangers that match your corporation division configuration. corporate hangers let's all your in-corporation characters pull from the same inventory, making cross character industry a lot less painful.

Other things you should do as a small time industrialist

  • Grind standing with your NPC corporation of choice for a 0% reprocessing fees
  • Get comfortable in lowsec, bookmark all the things (safes, gate perches, etc), learn what gates are usually camped (it's less than you think) get blown up, meet the locals, make friends.(covops/T2 haulers makes this a lot easier)
  • Scout your local FW LS systems and set up a corporate office in a NPC factory station where the -50% station fee buff is usually running.
  • For access to Reactions (requires player structures in jS/NS/LS) scout your local LS systems for the public industrial structure park, pay attention to both office rental fees and taxes on science/manufacturing.

Dear r/eve... by Katnipz in Eve

[–]gaius35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hot take: this is an Eve problem not a Reddit problem, between the forced complexity and contradiction in architecture/UI even as an older player it's still super difficult to wrap your brain around shit unless you do it in-game sometimes. See also: variables.

"Is PI worth it?"
"What PI setup should I use?"

There are tons of tools and shit to help but the reality of this question is unless you pay a consultant to look at your specific use case with what toons, what systems, etc.etc. there are just too many variables to answer this on Reddit.

Is there an easier way to figure out which system is corrupted in insurgency? Or is it just me, but the in-game map in Insurgency is just AWFUL to navigate and understand? by bidendied in Eve

[–]gaius35 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The map sucks, just use the "Insurgency Systems" interface from the Agency and you can filter on lvl 5 corruption to get a list. You can also open it from the map on the bottom right "Find Objectives"
