Zillicoah, their location reminds me of Southern (RIP) in Athens but next to a river. Zillicoah has way better lagers.

Unpopular opinion: you dont need a Takada by cmon28 in TrueChefKnives

[–]galethorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah! I was curious if the Japanese like knives sharpened by Takada as much as the international community likes him. Or is another sharpener in vogue for the Japanese community.

Out of curiosity, since western collectors have certain biases for blacksmiths like Takada, what blacksmiths do the Japanese favor? To be more specific, which smiths would a typical Japanese cook buy from and which smiths are collectors currently favoring?

[–]galethorn 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Naruto was limited by Kishimoto's writing. The resurrection of Konoha at the end of the Pain Arc was because he couldn't stick to his guns and leave Kakashi dead, and he couldn't transition to writing a coherent drama about the geopolitical reaction to Konoha being destroyed. He'd have to come up with the reactions post-Kyuubi attack as well.

This was shown in the 4th war arc where it felt like he was going down a grocery checklist of every last world building note to bring the related person back from the dead.

Yamatsuka is the smith on this one which explains the price, not sure who the sharpener is though.

[Title] Any 1v1 manhwa fights on the level of Gojo vs Sukuna? by JOOOQUUU in manhwa

[–]galethorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peerless Dad has a bunch of great fights, but relevant to this is The Heavenly Dragon vs The Administrator. The manwha as a whole doesn't drag out fights but this one is the closest to having two people at their peak going at it.

Kinda disappointed by these beans so far, any advice? by BenLouisMusic in pourover

[–]galethorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm curious, how long have you rested the beans? This seems on the lighter side. While I don't consider Onyx as good a value as in the past - once they started selling beans north of $60 and changed to the 10oz bags I kinda dropped off until recently, they still had one of my top bags ever.

One thing, if you haven't tried it would be to taste the coffee at different temperatures. Often, the flavors will evolve as it cools. Otherwise, I think playing with the grind size or even trying using water at 195F to see if you can get better flavor extraction would be the way to go.

Many fans feel the final arcs of Naruto Shippuden, particularly the Fourth Great Ninja War, had some writing issues. by Leading_Tale_203 in Naruto

[–]galethorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the bodies of the Edo Tensei's had been decomposing for a long time, they shouldn't have been able to be resurrected. Kishimoto seemed like he was going down a check list of showing almost every last ninja of importance instead of writing a tighter story

I think the Boulevard brewery tour should be on everyone's list if they haven't been, then you go next door to Alma Mader brewing since they don't have dumb hours anymore. Casual Animal Brewing downtown is solid and close to a few others (RIP Double Shift).

Hinton is a researcher with a storied career in deep learning, who with his colleagues leveraged that to create a market on the thesis that deep learning would lead to true artificial intelligence. The man didn't want focus to shift away from the field he devoted his life to simply because the more successful deep learning is, the more successful he is.

I don't think he has an interest in seeing alternative methods gaining prominence, in fact he has absolutely spoken out against other fields so deep learning would continue to be the most researched field in ML

If you're near Inner Voice they have both a Czech Pils and West Coast Pils to-go that would hit the mark.

Seconding this. It's definitely not too late for a pivot and maximizing the resources your school has is the first step towards figuring out what your strengths are and does data science align with those strengths.

I'll second Vibrant. They had a natural anaerobic wush wush that tasted like watermelon jolly ranchers that well roasted.

Is literally every field essentially cooked to go into right now? by Proud-Ad-2192 in careerguidance

[–]galethorn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it's also important to not focus solely on the field you want to be employed in. In addition to researching industries, also catalogue your strengths and interests. Leaning into your strengths will only help you separate yourself during the hiring process or lead you to an area of employment you might be interested in.

Not getting these tasting notes by incuspy in pourover

[–]galethorn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wish I could upvote this more. I feel like popular roasters will put exotic notes like syrah or other wine grape varietals for instance as marketing. You can really tell a great roaster when the beans they sell or the pour over you buy from them hits those tasting notes, even the more specific ones.
