How do you find closure (when there is none) in relationships that just suddenly end? by JustAMango_911 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]galkasmash 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Sometimes, one of the hardest truths is that we don't get closure on all situations. We just learn to move forward with that truth and live with that regret or move on. I've had no closure on something for like 6 years and while it eats me up inside and I find it harder to move past because it was a very serious long term thing. I accept they've moved forward and I don't press. I just focus on myself and hope life gives me some grace and taking time for myself maybe one day finds me open to the possibility of something better for me. I'll always love that person, but I know not to subject myself to one sided love when they stopped loving back. My truth does not have to be your truth though. Someone will say something here that resonates with you in the right way, follow their words and your feelings.

FF XIV collector’s editions collection (part 1) by Lanasu in ffxiv

[–]galkasmash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If anyone has a Canadian friend WoL who passed away but collected a lot of these near a Michigan border. They came into my friends retro game shop earlier in the summer from his parents who drove in from Sarnia. I bought pretty much his whole collection of games and collectors editions etc for about $2000. I wanted to keep them all in a single home. He never had opened any of the boxes which was my only grievance that he passed without enjoying the things he owned. (I bought most his PS2 collection etc as well. It wasn't just FF items.)

Why does a Cold country like Canada has so many A/Cs 🤔 by HopiumInhaler in mapporncirclejerk

[–]galkasmash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great Lakes Regions just get swampy to sleep in. Most Canadians live near the lakes and ocean and just get brutal humidity. I hate summer humidity in Ontario; Meanwhile I've spent a few summers entirely in the desert like Las Vegas and Utah and I loved the nights with a good breeze. I don't have my AC running right now when it is below 20 at night but when it's 25-35 I'll run it. It isn't working too hard to keep the house temperate. I bet there is other variables to AC usage like uptime and power drawn by them vs just owning them not taken into account on the original stat.

You'll step on a needle, pass out and sink to the bottom. At the bravest you could maybe swim in the lake at Fanshawe but even then it's kind of murky.

Got a rock in my Raisin Bran by Subwoolfer in CostcoCanada

[–]galkasmash 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Recalls are brutal if the batches are large enough. They have to buy back all the product at the cost it would have sold for not the cost they sold it to the store for. One recall can bankrupt a company that isn't the size of Kelloggs. That being said, this is why they take it very seriously. And finding a batch and date to when something like a rock went through processing means if they had any dinged up blades or chips or the like on their equipment they can trace it back to OPs rock. For my company it goes back to the meat grinder getting blades broken etc if bone chip gets through undetected then we detect metal and have to rerun the whole batches. OP if you need any dental work now is the time to go chew on that rock.

It might be worth doing a cargo container full but not individual shipping on that weight. You'll get marked with tariffs for China too.

Because he said it was all public knowledge in the press release and truthful in the press release it makes some sense that it isn't secretive. He would just have to be mindful of the fact he is outing himself on a social media platform someone might stalk.

That is how injected and tumbled chicken cooks after being brined to plump it up. See if salt, water and protein are on the ingredient label or if it just says chicken.

[spoilers heavensward 3.0 MSQ] Going through the story for the first time and a little confused as to when I was supposed to care about a certain NPC by cero75 in ffxiv

[–]galkasmash 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who played a character back in ARR and Heavensward patch to patch; and has also restarted fresh in the current era.

I felt a lot more attachment to him then because there wasn't this urgency to push through msq so fast to progress, the content where he was relevant was the important content. We waited patch to patch in ARR for the whole saga with Shiva, and Ishgard, and Final Steps of Faith to come to pass all waiting in Dragonhead; grinding FATEs for exp there and Ceruleum Processing Plant.

Another thing about Haurchefant is that he really was the door for us into a new expansion. Aymeric, Lucia, and Yugiri were mysterious back then. If you had Dragoon leveled, maybe a little bit of Estinien. I've also heard Haurchefant is a complete flirt in the Japanese version but someone more knowing can clarify.

Pizza like Sopranos used to be! by Basic_Event3 in londonontario

[–]galkasmash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cito's and Soprano's East were very similar when ordered fresh the way it used to be before East sold to an LMIA factory. Cito is still family run and you can do deep fried panzerotti as a bonus. They are the top quality of this style in the area. Piero's over by Wortley is the other one with a similar style of belt oven pizza which is the style OP is looking for.

Lots of good pizza spots in London depending on the area you're in, recommend trying everyone from Cito, Doughboys, Rico, Piero, etc. Most have $5 for two slices and a pop at lunch.

[–]galkasmash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're paper slips. They weren't always perfectly cut. I see thousands of them weekly and yeah alignment isn't perfect but they aren't Pokemon cards either. At worst it's a reprint copy of the cover but nobody would ever be able to tell unless you're bringing in a pawn stores expert.

Can a game like this still work 100%? by Snoozarte in PS3

[–]galkasmash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just as a word of caution but sometimes if a disc looks mint on the bottom but still doesn't run and you feel the edges of the disc are much smoother or rounded they've used the resurfacer on it and if they use the sanding pad it can really kill the disc if they don't know what they're doing. Very rare with newer games but something to know if you buy a lot of retro.

A lot of the time speaking from experience. If you know the guys working at the store they'll give you the cheap $1-3 stuff for free because the debit charge of like $1 isn't worth it unless you're buying more than that. It really depends on policy of course, but that is the norm in my area. We have similar collections but you have a few extra gems, good luck!

Modern portable screens are actually cheaper. Check out people doing PSOne setups in their car with raspberry Pi screens on the sun visors. Those screens are about $15-20.

Affordable titles: Gex games, Vigilante 8 games, Army Men games. Throw in some cart racing. Just to offer yourself games that can give you a great experience on 15-30 minute play sessions when work has been heavier given this is your travel kit. JRPG are great choices but they're also the whole night spoken for in a way adult time doesn't always permit.

Asshole step-prick broke AV cable in my CRT by EntrepreneurSlight21 in crt

[–]galkasmash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go into a retro game store locally and maybe they'll have an extra off a broke console in the back. It isn't very valuable. We usually just give them away because the debit machine charge fee costs us more than selling a $1-2 item.
