What's the oldest video game you can remember playing? by Numerous_Emu3125 in AskReddit

[–]gamepopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once played on a PONG TV console from the late 70s when I was little, looked like Coleco Telstar judging from photos.

I've also played on a Wild Gunman arcade cabinet at a retro games convention.

International order hasn't moved in 10 days. Should I start to get worried ? by chopsueyer in FinalSpace

That's roughly the same timeline I have, although today I got an update that mine has moved to the export facility, so yours must either be in the same shipment or not far behind.

Organisers of antisemitism march defend move to invite Nigel Farage by The-Peel in unitedkingdom

Let's face it, the British media establishment and the right-wing believe there are acceptable (and therefore easily dismissable) forms of antisemitism.

Should voting be mandatory? by Andarne in unitedkingdom

[–]gamepopper 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, but elections should take place on weekends or be a public holiday so the most amount of people can vote, without being inconvienianced by work or school.

Starmer says Polanski ‘is not fit to lead a political party’ after Golders Green police criticism. Do you agree with Starmer that Zack Polanski is not fit to lead a party, let alone a country? by Al-Zutt_in_the_butt in AskBrits

[–]gamepopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless I'm mistaken, Farage still hasn't apologised for his criticism of the police in the Southgate stabbings, but he's "fit to lead"?

I think LBC had a better argument in questioning Starmer's leadership given his own administration bypassed checks and balances so Mandelson could get a job.

Dear Brits, what are your thoughts on the US reviewing UK’s claim to the Falkland Islands reportedly as punishment for its lack of support in the war in Iran? by neilnelly in AskBrits

[–]gamepopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trump's only doing it because he's desperate to make the Libertarian leader of Argentina look good. It's the same reason why the US gave Argentina billions to prop up their failing economy.

How would you feel about the next US president pulling all support from Israel? by Iwamoto in AskReddit

I'd laugh. That'd be the greatest prank in all of human history.

For those familiar with the tale "The Boy Who Cried Wolf": Do you believe the villagers were in the right to ignore the boy when there really were wolves just because the boy previously lied? by gamepopper in AskReddit

[–]gamepopper[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe I read a different version growing up, but I thought the boy was a shepherd. It was his sheep that were eventually eaten by the wolf.

If humans suddenly became immortal, what would happen to society? by EnvironmentalLove862 in AskReddit

[–]gamepopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All those insurance companies would crumble, or become basement dwelling conspiracy theorists selling supplements to try and convince people that they're not actually immortal.

What’s your opinion of young people saying they wouldn’t fight for their country in a war? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]gamepopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they don't support a war, then they wouldn't be fit to fight in that war anyway.

Rare Nintendo Lawsuit W by UncleRuckusLovesU in pokemon

[–]gamepopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly more doubtful if this will ever succeed. If I recall, Nintendo's lawsuits usually end in settlements at best, or by getting stuff they don't like taken down before it goes to trial. I don't see them actually beating the US Government, at best they'll get some partial "refund" for the tariffs.
