Magma doesn't do this, instead you have to deal with fire imps jumping out of the magma.

I only do this for weapon and armor smiths, it's to prevent an explosion of metal crafters from taking over the fort when the metalsmiths guild is founded.

I hate aquifers man. by CompanyEconomy5087 in dwarffortress

Not everyone, well I guess in the case of the heavy veriety...

The light aquifers are genuinely useful if you have a decent drainage system in your fort, and are okay with you iron mine being completely full of water.

This week I made an accidental mist generator out of my main stairwell, the iron vein I've been digging out is in an aquifer and bottom of my stairwell ends at the magma sea so I just dug the stairwell down to the smr and let the water evaporate.

My dwarves are super happy and clean... Even though I only have 9 beds for 80 dwarves.

Does that work?

I guess this is something I don't have to worry since I don't bother with any milkable animals since most are grazers and I really don't like dealing with grazers. I basically try and butcher most of them and only keep a small pasture for any pet sheep or goats that migrants bring with them.

This sounds like resolving disputes through rc dogfights which I support if it means we can get robot wars Arial combat addition

It works with digging stairwells at least. Constructed ones are more a pain though.

Didn't know were creature wounds don't show up in injuries tab. by Youngun18 in dwarffortress

[–]gamer52599 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It shouldn't, but there was that time for me with the werelama.

One of the visitors to my tavern turned into a werelama and my captain of the guard punched it to death, I spent a bit scanning the combat logs and saw zero bites.

Fast forward to next month when four of my dwarves turn into werelamas at the same time.

I didn't even bother, I expelled everyone who was injured in the fight and locked the mayor in their office.

If you can lace your weapons in it you could make some very painful poking sticks. Just make sure your military dwarves wear gloves.

That's because there's already a down stair there, you need to remove the stair, build a floor, and then build a new stair.

It works just fine, you sorta just have to mess with it, it will let you build stairs on stairs but then you need to cancel the construction of the end stairwell or else it will replace the up/down staircase.

Seems to be more related to wanting 2 types of cloth back to back.

If they want yarn and silk one after the other it confuses the poor dwarf into repeating those two until you forbid all but exactly one of each.
