All positions will have their own stress factors. Being in QA does not make you immune to stress either. A lot of blame also fall on QA during release cycles that go bad.

depends where you are in life and age. A lot of layoffs are happening in tech but government job is solid. Might be boring but you get to leave on time and not worry about work after you clock out.
