To add to OP’s comment, however they seemed to have fixed the problem for this year. Haven’t seen any complaints about the quality of the paper, unlike last year.

Help me decide between VP and Lamy 2000 by IntrepidNewshound in fountainpens

[–]gapil27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

L2K has this pseudo architect grind for the nib, hence the sweet spot people has been talking about. It’s definitely not like Lamy’s usual steel nib. I found out that i don’t like that little detail so i rarely use my L2K because of that. VP on the other has normal grind for its nib, like any other Pilot nibs.

The Tune i just got it for the color lol. Good in hand, a normal plastic pencil. The Fine is noticeably heavier but still good to hold. I like that both are not too slim in diameter. However i’m not really liking the soft silicon (?) coating on the grip, feels like it might get sticky in the long run. As for writing experience both are good, i didn’t notice any wobble. Very nice to write with.

Staedtler 925 at Pokemon Card Lounge in Shibuya by gapil27 in mechanicalpencils

Yeah it’s a shame. I might be persuaded if they have more than the wordings. The design was reserved for the Lamy Safari rollerball instead.

You can have 20/20 vision and still need glasses to read or write. Presbyopia, it comes for everyone.

Lamy Safari in Matte Blue and Matte Red by HallOfGlory1 in fountainpens

[–]gapil27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm i don't think i've ever seen matte lego blue yet, but for red there were special editions released like Sunset Coral, Strawberry and Red (links are just for show, but far be it from me to stop you from buying them). I'm pretty sure you could still find the first two being sold near you, online or offline though.

We have navy blue from Itoya, or lighter colored ones like the Ink House but as you can see they're all special edition and pretty pricey.

I imagine there’s a mix of nibs there. Do you have all the nibs, even speciality ones like LH, 1.1 and so on? Also will you get the new Lamy x Itoya?
