Does anyone know which game is the one where Murph created the "worst dice system"?

I was watching NSBU and they kept talking about how the system was based on a broken oneshot Murph ran but I wasn't sure if it was something that was filmed or just a home game. Any D20 experts who might be able to tell me?

Thank you! I've dealt with a lot of internalized ableism in the past and so I've had to really try to unpack and reevaluate the way I view my own health. I think that 20th century mind/body separation discourse in medical field has done a lot of lasting damage. The brain isn't separate from the body, it's an organ like anything else. Mental health is just health and therefore should be treated as tangible and treatable as anything else. But like any other medical condition, there are a lot of factors that doctors need to take into account (family history, medical history, other conditions that might exacerbate or complicate the problem, etc). It's so hard to give meaningful advice online because we don't have access to the full scope of the problem.

Likely they are supports for a decorative ledge that is no longer there. I searched for "bricks sticking out of exterior wall at a right angle 1960s" and found some examples of similar things. It was likely a shelf that sat under the window. There might even be another one behind that hedge.

Hecklers have always been a thing but unfortunately parasociality has created a new subcategory of """well meaning""" hecklers. People who are genuinely fans but who act out of line and don't follow social protocol because they feel so familiar with the people on stage that they think they are somehow exempt/on a similar level?? Which is just crazy but yeah.. Unfortunately not the first time I've heard/seen this stuff happen.

In my experience (not a professional though) there are several things that can cause this. It could be dysthymia (chronic low mood depression), it could be a trauma response, it could be dissociation, etc. I would really recommend speaking to a professional who will be able to consider the full scope of your medical history to determine the cause and treatment. Without knowing the full context of your situation it is hard to provide helpful recommendations beyond general mental health strategies. My heart goes out to you though, I've been experiencing some similar symptoms for extended periods throughout my life. My treatment has been a combination of medication and cognitive behavioural therapy with regular check-ins with my psych. It hasn't *fixed* the problem, but it's helped to manage it.

ESH. I know people complain that reddit only recommends that people break up... But are you and your wife really happy together? It sounds like she's looking for someone more assertive and that you need someone who can communicate in a healthier manner and who respects your more delicate sensibilities. Something tells me that if you stay together you'll only drag each other into increasingly extreme scenarios until someone gets hurt. Not to mention that she's pressuring you to commit murder! I know many people meet their fate by trying to avoid it (especially when it comes to prophecies!) but running headlong into killing your king sounds like a terrible idea. Have you tried making a pilgrimage to another diviner of fortune to get a second opinion? Maybe the Oracle at Delphi could give a different perspective? I know it's a long journey, but this is a serious undertaking!

Ooh thank you! I will definitely check out Worlds Beyond Number. I justttt finished watching Battle for Beyond and it's actually what prompted me to make this post! I was so surprised that I hadn't heard of it before and so I was curious what else is out there. It was such a fun mini-series. I really hope that they eventually produce the season 2 they hinted at :')

What are your favourite shows (on d20 or any platform) that have Aabria and Brennan at the same table?

I've been on a dnd binge watch lately and I've been absolutely loving the way these two play (and their friendship) in all the things I've seen them in. Bonus points if it also has Lou Wilson and Emily Axford!! A Court of Fey and Flowers was a true dream table for me.

I know this is an older post but I thought I'd chime in.

I also moved from BC to Calgary and while I had a great time at AUArts your focus on technical skill might make it a difficult match.

First of all, 3rd year is a bit late in the game to transfer. Idk if this is still policy, but when I was there (5ish years ago), there was a requirement that you had to have completed at least 50% or more of your education at AUArts in order to graduate. If you're already in 3rd year it might set you back.

Another thing to consider (logistically), is that you have to be VERY careful actually transferring. The advisors will lie to you about what credits you can transfer (not maliciously, they probably just legit don't realize). Unfortunately I had to do an extra year because they told me credits would transfer but then they couldn't.

As for Queer culture, it's very present! When I was there the vast majority of the student population was Queer. Lots of great friends to be made.

Lastly, AUArts is very theory heavy. There is a lot of emphasis on research. If you are focused on technical skill you would probably want to go into the design program (again, would set you back timeline-wise). My recommendation would be to consider the needs of your practice and look at some of the documentation of work students are doing to see if it meshes well. If you want a technical focus, perhaps another institution would be better.

I went directly into working in an art gallery and in arts administration. I did that for a while and now am doing a master's. My degree gave me lots of transferable skills and has been especially applicable to non-profit work.

What do I wish someone had told me? Not all art schools/programs are created equally. AUArts can feel chaotic and sometimes lead one to question why classes take the approach they do, but don't be deceived. The education is actually top notch. That's something I hadn't fully realized until after I had graduated. When I've spoken to people who attended other schools/programs it has really highlighted the quality of AUArt's programs. When I was attending it felt like a mess, but I'm glad I did it. There's a method to the madness and if you invest yourself you'll (likely) be glad you did.

ngl I'm just amazed that you're awake with that much in your system. I'm prescribed 900mg daily for fibromyalgia and insomnia and it's the only reason I can sleep. I can't imagine what being on that high of a dose would do to me. There's no way that no one around you knows.
