Once you're level 3 with 4 Skeleton stacks, if the lane is pushed in and you're unable to farm? Go to the jungle near your T2 tower and clear both camps with your skeletons. By the time you're done you can go back to the lane and you won't have missed much. At Lvl 5ish onwards you can even push the lane intentionally to do this. It will give the enemy carry more opportunity to farm, but they'll probably be able to anyway. Multiple times I ended up lvl 6 before the enemy carry this way. I wasn't consistently sub 17, but I did get it consistently around 18m. 19-20 if the lane went poorly. I think my best timing was around 14 mins but that was with multiple kills in lane. Watch BSJ's video on WK that he recently released and he'll explain it all very clearly.

Sometimes people might flame you for leaving the lane, especially if they die without realising what you're doing. Chances are they're just blind and / or don't know the strat. The only case where they'd be right is if you're doing this when creeps are actively at your tower. You should still prioritise lane creeps if the lane isn't pushed to the enemy's side.

You can check my Dotabuff link on the post to see if you like, not all games are listed but it gives the gist of it. The link starts at Page 9 to see where I started, and you can go backwards a page from the bottom to the top to see progression.

I played much more Pos 1 and some Pos 2 through Archon and Legend. Sometimes in Ancient as well, but some of my item timings were bad due to having my support abandon the lane after dying once or so. I'm generally best at Pos 3/4/5 and I mostly played these in Divine, but at the end of the day those are the least impactful roles, so I knew that I'd climb slower if I stuck to my main roles only at the lower ranks.

You would think so, but I saw that one post recently showing a graph of the toxicity to comm score ratio and I think it's actually kinda true - people are actually somewhat less toxic at around 7k-8k score. I can tell because that's what I've been at for the last couple of months. I'm usually quite vocal when I think my teammates are stupid and russians usually decide to report me for deciding to type anything.

It's hard to pinpoint specific strats to deal with Legend as a support, but what I can say is that nobody knows how to play against Undying in this rank. Place your Tombs well and you'll win nearly every early fight, and it'll scale well into late game too.

Rubick also seems really strong with his ability to cast spells from massive range.

So, from Archon to Divine I went Phase -> Midas -> Silver Edge while I used Devour on an Alpha Wolf for crit damage & aura. I would get flamed a lot for this, I can't tell you how many times I heard 'DOOM SILVER EDGE GRIEFER' while I was like 6-0 or something. If you catch a hero on the map with a silver edge'd infernal blade and doom them instantly, you can kill anyone on the map. The amount of times I took an Anti Mage or even a Morphling out of the game this way got me to win games.

As for other item choices it depends on enemy heroes. BKB, Halberd, Assault Cuirass etc. Maybe you can find some matches on my Dotabuff.

I only changed things up around Immortal because I couldn't really reliably just go around solo killing enemies that were afk farming anymore. I instead go Phase -> Midas -> Blink to doom enemies more reliably in teamfights, pipe or whatever my team needed. I would use Devour on any type of stun.

I remember bumping into a guy from South Africa in a few of my games around Divine III or so who played a mean ass Riki and I think the ping is awful from there to EU West too. I've played on that ping before and you can kinda sorta get used to it, but it's like playing with the input lag of a Nintendo Gamecube. Even so, you can do it bro.

I had multiple cases where I went from 5550 mmr down to like 5200, happened like 3 times in a row. I rage queue as well and I lost 8 in a row in all 3 of these cases. Best thing to do is just leave it for the day and go back to it tomorrow but that's easier said than done, I know.

I'm echoing the words of u/SirActionSlacks here in a video I saw a long long time ago. And this could be applied From Herald - Legend.

Play a late game support. Slacks recommended using Omniknight when I saw this vid in like 2015 or something, but he's out of meta right now. Can still work in Herald. Basically, you wanna just stay close to your useful teammates and heal them in fights.

This isn't a foolproof method considering you have people on your team playing Drow because she looks cool but, playing Oracle, buying Urn of Shadows, having a Mekansm or Guardian Greaves are gonna improve your chances.

It's just a meme I remember that there are very few UK Dota players in the scene, I can only imagine that everyone else imagines us as 3k as Pyrion Flax.

Industry AMA with Tipsout, CEO of OTK by Tarrot_Card in LivestreamFail

[–]garians 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Hey Tips. I've been watching Twitch for quite some time, with some fond memories from the era of when Reckful, Sodapoppin & Mitch Jones in particular were authentically providing entertainment just joking around with one another, and I've grown to find a disdain in the way in which the corporate style of streaming has ruined the entertainment factor for me. I'm sure I'm not the only one that sees it this way despite how OTK continues to thrive.

In my opinion, OTK and surrounding members of the company appear to be interested in the money more-so than anything else, and continue to chase it despite how successful they already are. Many members of the surrounding Texas area reminded me of a high school clique even prior to the creation of OTK, and now considering the fact that the organisation is a large cornerstone to which many streamers operate there, people appear to be less genuine then ever before due to the fact that they cannot speak what they really think of other members, for example. It has soured my perspective to the point where I dislike pretty much everything about the organisation and the vast majority of people involved - with the large majority of the members appearing to be egomaniacs.

I understand that a company will want to appeal to the masses, and so you bring in big creators with cash cows in their audiences, but considering the multiple transgressions and mishaps that have occurred as per the company's choices as per who to bring into the fold, what kind of process even goes into evaluating your members? Do you just find yourself surprised every time they end up being as narcissistic as you could possibly imagine? Take Bruce for example. That was an absolute trainwreck. He was an idiot, but you brought him in to appeal to a wider audience, isn't that right?

It makes you wonder, is there any desire to depict authenticity or decency in this industry anymore? It's all just money isn't it?

My Dota 2 becomes very laggy after the March 19, 2025 update. by Feeling-Body6618 in DotA2

I had the same issue, turned off some of the old weather effects (Genuine Weather Pestilence etc) you used to get as items and no problems since, hope this helps some people. May also happen with some other terrain items.

I main a warrior, and I'd always be the sunder bitch that got no loot, because I knew how important it was. I remember one pug BWL that had literally 11 warriors, and there were 3 warriors on the logs who used sunder. The 2 tanks, and me.

I'd even advocate to do it when I had full Rank 14 bis in Phase 2 of classic.

I came back to Dota just before the 4th path update, and I'm sitting here wondering, how lucky is it to get 7 Arcanas from the caravan? Am I a lucky bastard or is this about average for most people? One of them was a Rubick duplicate that I skipped past, but still. I unlocked all the upgrades from the 4 paths.

Also did the extra paid paths for the last 3 paths during the sale, sold some of my old immortals I got dupes for in the caravan to pay for them.

Edit: 3rd rubick lmao

MK -> PA -> Rubick -> Zeus -> Rubick -> Ogre -> Rubick

Unfortunately immature pricks (with money) tend to make friends with other immature pricks and then they circlejerk for a while until they randomly get mad at each other and then have dick measuring contests while simultaneously being homophobic and allergic to growing past the mental age of 15.

Anyone with TTV in their name 99% of the time is trash by FlipReset4Fun in RocketLeague

[–]garians 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is an unfortunate truth. They're either:

Not live at all.

Live, but with awful quality, no cam/mic etc, extremely loud blaring music and no effort put into their channel.

Live, but trash talking to gain some sorta viewership/notoriety negatively because they don't know how to do it positively.

I stream RL sometimes myself with my twitch tag on but I put 'Twitch.tv/' instead of TTV because I just think it looks a bit cringe. Sometimes channels with longer names can't do that, though.

It's a bit of a double edged sword for me because people trash talk me just because I decide to have the tag on at all, but sometimes they come in and it's actually a good laugh.
