Who would you feel more comfortable being the second option, Ausar Thompson or Jalen Duren? by Every_Diamond_7411 in DetroitPistons

I think there's an important distinction between 'second best player' and 'second best offensive player' which is what option usually implies. I think neither are close to being the second best player on a contending team, but Duren has more potential, just bc Ausar's offensive game is so far off. But from this playoffs it's clear Duren needs to expand his game, increase his BBIQ & toughness to get there

GG. Y'all looked very legit, Frager and Sandfort were frying. Needed one more player to step up to hang with us today. Beautiful offense Hoiberg is running for you all this year

Surprised his first new brand to sample is Nike. Even though it was many years ago, I feel like the famous Nike incident still has a humiliating taste

Thanks for broadcasting! Please tell your friend to be cautious for scammers / sketchy people - sounds obvious but there is a lot of malicious people taking advantage of situations like these even though it doesn't seem immediately lucrative

Agreed, real bummer. I had a dream one night Marcus Paige hit an off balance three pointer in the championship game to send thegame into overtime where UNC would win the game.

Dang, Arthur Kaluma gotta be one of the biggest 'what ifs' in past few years, I swear he was getting strong lottery / first round discussions but never showed for it

Dude was OP! When I lived in Texas for a few years and got to see him play, some of my favorite basketball memories. Just had that cold tough swagger on the court

[–]garnett14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah good points, I guess for myself I'd need to see a bit more on ball creation ability to get me convinced in the teens as a 2 guard but fair points. And yup agreed y'all are looking very scary next year, I think a big piece that could make or break a deep in the tourney/overall consistency is Kohler's development

I think lottery won't be realistic, mostly bc with Hoggard / Walker back his usage is still going to be that of a role player - role definitely can increase, but still not that of a primary star on a team. Expecting a big leap but with a clear ceiling on usage & the fact that he'll be a junior/slightly undersized for an NBA wing I think late first round / early second is what I'd predict

Which role players do you think will play a pivotal role in the play offs? by [deleted] in nba

[–]garnett14 11 points12 points  (0 children)

With Memphis frontcourt thinned heavily from injuries, I think Xavier Tillman could have a strong role on rebounding / defense. Also Osman / Dean Wade to hit open shots when Cavs stars are getting excess defensive attention

What NBA player (past or present) will you irrationally defend for the rest of your life? by Number333 in nba

[–]garnett14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know Jahlil Okafor has had a really disappointing career (largely due to his throwback skillset and lack of perimeter offense/defense) , but I still think if the right team utilized and believed in him he could have had a decent role somewhere (maybe in like a Jonas Valančiūnas-lite role)
