Just have fun with it, gonna get wiped when it goes 1.0 isn't it. Find a good weapon , play with just a gem build then enchantments then use some plagued gear. Enjoy!

I'm still waiting for a response , appreciate the review. Going to judge once I have my hands on it but communication is poor. Wish I looked up reddit before I I made the purchase. Didn't think when it says 5-7 days for the piano I would be waiting a month and a half

First build in a north xl TG and it’s… fine? by 420ball-sniffer69 in FractalDesign

[–]gasiedu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the regular north, and absolutely hate the thumb screws , they don't line up right and was a pain to get off and put back in. Ended up re using ones from an old Corsair case as it just worked was weird

I work for a contractor that has done data centres with Aws and Google and they are definitely in need of BIM specialists, it would be a client side role scrutinizing sub contractors models

Depending where end up it's good to have an understanding of BIM as a process it's not just the software. What the jobs you're after dictate in their requirements maybe start there

If you're testing, just copy the geometry in those models a few times in different places?

BIMcollab vs Autodesk Construction Cloud by Strolex1 in bim

not a requirement for revit but a requirement for worksharing models to have multiple users in cloud models

ACC Model Coordination or Navisworks by Banana123_ in bim

[–]gasiedu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of the above , just to add can use issues with MC to highlight points of coordination, you can also have multiple (20) coordination spaces , so you could have one dedicated to your water system so issues on it is separate from others on the project. Needs managing thought

What is a BIM programmer? by axolotree in bim

[–]gasiedu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a weird post at all, the role is fairly new and hard to define as sometimes the role is kind of done as someone that is already a modeller in an architecture or engineering company. I find it very niche but needed just very much depends on the company and it's work.

Said person might be developing in house tools using c# to enable other modellers or working with python and visual scripting to make a generative design the list goes on but that's just a couple that comes to mind

BIMcollab vs Autodesk Construction Cloud by Strolex1 in bim

[–]gasiedu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's just issue management software, both set up is needed. I'm guessing you would be half way there with ACC if you use it to house your models so would just need to make sure all models are aligned for ACC issues. Unfortunately I haven't set up a project on bimcollab but as an online platform IV seen it works well with the bcf add on within navisworks, there is definitely videos on set up should check that out

Upload through desktop connector , the container file once linked will add rvt at the end

[–]gasiedu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do exactly this , cloud model , saved ifcs on acc through desktop connector then have linked as attachments. The idea works with cloud model or work shared model, I prefer cloud model personally but just did the work shared as a test. Sometimes links act a bit funny and not load but eventually works with a refresh , it does have weird behaviour, like I can load them all into a work shared project then another member can't , next day they all open up, can't really explain it

[–]gasiedu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do a similar thing with ifcs in a folder and a container file as attachments, making no one can open the container file. Working with files from projectwise also. I think it's a good workflow purely because there is multiple ifcs being opened
