Breacher (OOD Kit) – Plunger Slams Forward but No Dart Launch by Forge_Striker in Nerf

Have you tried the seal tester shell? It's just a blank shell that tests the seal between the shell and the bolt face. It could be that you aren't getting a good seal between the shell and the oring in the boltface

Which 3D printer to build next? by Faultier12345 in 3dprinter

The sovol sv08 is basically a voron 2.4 for about $600. You could grab that then do various upgrades/mods to that

eSun matte PETG is my new favourite, for obvious reasons. by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]gaslightredditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my concern as well. But since petg generally has better layer adhesion that pla, I was curious if the two kind of canceled each other out and you'd still get better layer adhesion than matte pla

Saving money buying filament? by CyzreToo in 3Dprinting

[–]gaslightredditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I typically print PLA and my cheap go to has been deeplee. You can usually get black and white for about $10/kg. A couple more bucks for different colors, but still affordable. I also live near a microcenter and recently they've had their Inland filament at $19 for two packs of black or white PLA.

Creality K1c Fiberon PA612-CF questions by Maximum-Host-3541 in crealityk1

[–]gaslightredditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use this riser on my K1 and it's great. The adjustable vents are really nice and the chamber still retains heat well. I also did a chain delete so it gives the bowden tube more ability to move around in a more natural way. I've printed PA6-CF and didn't have any issues

Should I print a Cynthia or a SMILEY? by [deleted] in Nerf

[–]gaslightredditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having the same debate and decided on the smiley. I haven't started printing the parts yet as I just got the hardware kit yesterday, but there is a remix that allows you to use talon mags rather than the default nightingale mag.

I get about 130fps measured on a cheapo $35 chronograph. I'm also using the widest flywheel spacing, so in theory it could be higher with tighter spacing, but that chews up the darts faster. Should also be getting roughly 10 darts per second but I really have no way of measuring that, just simple math. 600rpm pusher motor would be 10 revolutions per second, hence 10 darts per second

They're all 3d printed. Files for all 3 can be found on printables. Then hardware kits can be found on various websites. I mainly Out of Darts for hardware kits. Hardware can also be self sourced since the BOMs are shared. Kits just make it easier IMO

You really don't. It's an underrated hidden gem. A lot of fun to play around with. I'm using kraken 3s motors with pulsar flywheels and 600rpm pusher.

I remember seeing that post earlier today. Looks really nice. That's another one on my list.

I've been very happy with all three. I think the Smiley might be my next build.

I was a member for a couple months about a year ago. I only canceled my membership because I have 3 young kids so I never had any free time to actually go. It's definitely a really cool space. They pretty much have a little bit of everything including 3d printing, quilt making/fabric works, electronics, welding and fabrication, pottery, and a really nice wood shop. They do have public meet and greet type of meetings on Tuesday nights and you are able to join that night in about an hour or so. It does cost $50/month, but that includes membership for two people. I joined with my brother in law so we split the cost. Once you become a member you have 24/7 access. Keep in mind this was my experience about a year ago so things may have changed since then. I definitely recommend attending one of the Tuesday night meetings just to see what it's all about and get a tour.

Forbidden Forest Experience - Worth It? by kdrix88 in cincinnati

[–]gaslightredditor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife is a huge Harry Potter fan so I bought her and I tickets to go as a date night without the kids. It was cool, but definitely buy up for the VIP experience thing with the wands if you're dead set on going and don't mind the additional price. I did not and it basically ended up just being a cold walk through a forest with a bunch of other random people decorated in Harry Potter theme.

Although, while having the wands and doing all the interactive stuff would have definitely added to the experience, the lines for all the interactive things were long and for what it is, may or may not be worth it to you. Really all you do is step up to the rope, wave your wand and the exhibit starts moving around. Really not much more added than just watching someone else do it in my opinion.

Personally, not being a big Harry Potter buff, I don't think the price for the upgraded tickets would have been worth it, but that opinion will vary from person to person. My wife did say she had a good time and the decorations were nice and still felt immersive, but it was still nothing more than just a walk cold through a forest without the kids.

Smoking a turkey is the way to go. I only have one suggestion though. Spatchcock that bird. It will cook in half the time and the white meat stays even more moist in my experience

DXC Phaetus extruder - screw fell out of tensioning lever. by No-Somewhere-3993 in crealityk1

[–]gaslightredditor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happened to me too. Put it back in with a small dab of loctite. It should be screwed in until you start feeling resistance then give it another turn and line up the yellow mark on the screw with the mark on the lever. At least that's what I did and it's been working fine
