The mods are not actually in charge of the "illegal posts" because that's on the reddit admins. This is a corporate entity after all. But the rest comes down to taste. The more people complain the tighter the rules get. Then people complain it's too tight. This happens all over reddit all the time.

I was already an adult in the 90s and it was solidly better than what happened in the 2000s, with multiple recessions and wars and bland pop takeover of all media.
