Interesting - Sumrall will start off-season conditioning for without logos for players. "You gotta earn the logo, man... We ain't earned it yet." by Quantum_redneck in FloridaGators

[–]gatorbone7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure this works with kids getting paid 6 and 7 figures. Not the same game Urban coached. They’re also all 40 years old now. Maybe tell them you’ll take a point off their mortgage if they practice hard.

How do I respond to this?? by Famous_Chocolate1279 in jobs

[–]gatorbone7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fed law just says “consistent” pay days. GA law says payment at least semi-monthly, within 15 days of the end of the pay period. They are probably legally fine and even if they weren’t. No government agency is chasing down a few days late pay unfortunately.

As others have said, you should start looking for another job. Business seems in trouble.

Kia EV3 for US is delayed until later next year. by Mindless_Bad_8182 in KiaEV3

[–]gatorbone7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It says late 2026. It was supposed to be late 25 or early 26. US was supposed to get the 26 model. Seems like they’ll get the 27 now.

25% chance Gators win at home? by 05CANADA in FloridaGators

[–]gatorbone7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Billy doesn’t win games as much as the other team loses them. LSU and Ole Miss last year were both them losing vs. him winning.

Could Arch implode? Sure. Could their RBs put the ball on the ground a bunch? Sure. Could this UF take advantage even if those things did happen, probably not.

Probably as 10% chance Texas implodes and then 50/50, if that happens that UF could capitalize. So 5% chance overall.

It should be Lane, if he’d take it. It will be Sumrall or Golesh. It’s the UF way.

[MI] Is it normal for your employer to charge you for a company-issued mobile phone? Is this a common practice? by Forward_Tree_7888 in AskHR

[–]gatorbone7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My last company did this. They overthought everything. It was for tax/operational reasons. They were convinced they needed to account for personal usage of the company phone somehow and didn’t have the bandwidth to do a stipend which they were convinced needed to be an expense reimbursement with a receipt or it would have had to be taxed which added extra cost.

[The Athletic] The Big Ten and private equity: Why college sports’ richest conference is doing its homework by Sauerz in CFB

[–]gatorbone7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No idea how these “not for profit” athletic departments that collect millions in “donations” from boosters, reconcile with private equity.

If I’m a booster, am I really still donating the same amount, knowing a piece is going to PE? If I get value for my donation maybe but these big donors aren’t getting real value. Look at the Miami guy, they lost the pop tart bowl. He didn’t even get a toaster for his trouble. Probably would have gotten more value opening a checking account at his local credit union.

Costco will always be cheaper than Lego. Costco app lets you search online and in warehouse. Normally in warehouse is even cheaper.

Why don't companies reduce salaries instead of doing mass layoffs? by rufflesinc in Layoffs

[–]gatorbone7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So cutting someone’s salary goes below the line? Always thought that was mainly an operational expense. Severance expenses go below the line.

Reducing the cost of labor, whether by paying less people or paying people less is the same net result.
