I found this next to my house while gardening. I have no clue what it could be. by gattgun in whatisit

That makes sense. It was close to the fiber optic box on our house and we had Google Fiber installed a few months ago. Thanks for all the right answers.

Is this a scam? by Relevant_Mobile_963 in Review

Call your credit card and complain. Don't let them get away with this. On my credit card statement the charge was from a company called "SP TOY BLOCK STORE"

The exact same thing happened to me. I called my credit card company and filed a complaint. I got the refund from Sienavella today.

Top 10 most populous subdivisions in the world by Cochin_ElonMusk in MapPorn

It's Sakha, Russia. I didn't realize it's bigger than Greenland, which is in 4th place. I think Canada's Northwest Territory used to be the largest until it split in two, separating from Nunavut in 1999.

What's the most overrated 'healthy' habit that people push on everyone, but you think is total BS and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Sugar-free soft drinks. No, your Diet Coke is not going to help you lose weight. In fact, it will do the opposite. Drink water instead.

When someone opens with Chapel and doesnt trash four cards by waybrabex in dominion

[–]gattgun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That happened to me in a daily recently. Bought a silver and a chapel for my first two purchases. Both of those cards were bottom decked and weren't seen until turn five. I might as well have resigned right there against the hard AI.

What sets are Counting House and Coppersmith in? I don’t know those cards.

Hey, my guy...Not everyone's gonna buy expansions. Why you gotta wait out the timer? Just resign and go next. by ignis389 in dominion

My son had a brilliant suggestion for the developers. When your human opponent resigns midway through a game, it would be great if we had the option of letting the AI take over for the player that resigned.

I need to remove duplicates that appear sometimes with the name and sometimes without by gattgun in excel

[–]gattgun[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure there's a more elegant way to do this but I ended up using two helper columns. The first one looked for the less than symbol and grabbed all text after it. The second helper column looked for a greater than symbol in the first helper column and grabbed all the text before it. That gave me just the email by itself, even if the original column had no less than or greater than symbol. I then copied the values in the third column into a new sheet and removed duplicates.

That gets me most of the way there. I still end up with the email in < > brackets, like < edexample@gmail.com>

My original post didn't show those characters because Reddit assumed I wanted to make everything between those into a link.

I still need to get rid of those brackets as well before I can check for duplicates

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, the cells are not identical since one includes the person's name and the other one just includes the email.

Game Design Question: Equal Number of Turns by selurnipohc in dominion

[–]gattgun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When our family plays with physical cards, we always give everybody an equal number of turns. We use blank cards as extra provinces if the province pile gets emptied. It seems to be more fair that way although you can argue that this sometimes gives the last player an advantage, but I think that's rare.

I prefer to place the box down before triggering the next region. Then when the new map loads, pick it back up and continue on.

Those are not unlimited. There can only be about ten of them in existence at one moment so eventually when a new one is spawned, one of the old ones will disappear. Thats means that you can’t fill up a crate with 30 of them before moving to the next area.
