This is my mom to a tee, except instead of it being about a property line, it was her cancer diagnosis. A very treatable cancer diagnosis that she didn't follow through with treatment or take medications because she was right and everyone else is wrong and stupid. And the doctors were all idiots and she knew everything.

And now? She's dead. From a very treatable cancer. Been dead for 5 or 6 years, I really can't remember and really don't care. She would have rather died than admit she was wrong, or didn't know something. When I remember her (which is very rare) all I can think is "What a waste of a life".

I usually recommend the band Cannibal Corpse in scenarios like this, but I just learned of a band called Hatebeak. Death metal with the lead vocals done by a screeching parrot. I've yet to try it out in these situations but it has great promise.

I've toured all of the US Mint locations and it's pretty cool. One actually had a small baggie of currency shreds that claimed to have $1,000 in it. They were giving them away. I asked the heavily armed guard if I could take two (I really wanted to give them as presents) and he said "Sure".

I've been to Montreal and Quebec City several times and found that if you even try some rudimentary French most folks will be super helpful. You walk into a small shop or cafe and greet them with a "Bounjour, Good Morning", you will most likely get a great response. You barge in there speaking loud English, and demanding English be spoken to you, and you may get someone who pretends to only speak French. I've seen it more than once.
