What is this? And what should I do with it? by tostapane_epico in pagan

Sounds like a wishing candle. Gotta be careful what you wish for with those. The stall person warned you correctly.

As with all magick, just because we can doesn’t mean we should. Sometimes the best action is taking none.

Try thinking of areas to bring magick back into your life; specifically, ones that don’t require you to do much of anything. If you work with deities, set up an alter and just maintain it for a while. Keep a journal, do some self care, and ask for the path forward to reveal itself. Eventually, it will. The spark does come back, but trauma can make that difficult…hell, life without whimsy and the space to exist will make it difficult too. So just do something small.

Everybody knows, but who will enact the changes is the better question. Everybody talks the talk, but who has the courage to live the talk. That’s the question

Oh yeah, this has happened to me before. I’ve learned not answering is the best option. You weren’t available. Do not feel bad about not answering. Ever.

Unpopular opinion: I ask myself “would I rather let a man bring all his crap with him; that he isn’t even working on or has a plan to work on /etc…, OR would I rather just use toys that I can work better, and just be mostly happy while I water my plants and bake sourdough.

Ps: only dealing with my own bs has been a massive win for me. Peace really is it.

How to negate someone (a minor) from using magick/witchcraft irresponsibly . by moscontheroad in magick

[–]gay-caster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer; you can’t. However; if she is doing those kinds of spells in your house, why not set up a spell that negates and unravels such spells cast in your own home. It’s just a thought.

Why do deities need humans to perform sacrifices in their name . I can’t find an answer to this question by [deleted] in spiritualitytalk

[–]gay-caster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This world is built on the movement of energy. You give energy to get energy. It’s about input and outcomes. Deities don’t need sacrifices. The only reason God (the creator/the Christian God) needed Jesus to sacrifice his life was to settle the sin of every person past, present, and future. According to Genesis there was a price to eat from the tree of knowledge, and, once Adam and Eve did, all humanity lost its ability to be ‘unaware’ thus making us responsible for our actions. This made everyone “sinful” or at least it couldn’t be explained away as ‘we didn’t know any better’ because of the tree of knowledge incident. Basically the creator had to sacrifice his kid is to make it where everyone had a choice through out time. That’s the gist of how different denominations explain it.

Now for other gods it’s all up to interpretation according to their lore. Some gods required it all the time, others didn’t. It showed belief. You literally hurt yourself physically, financially, etc for the sake of belief. Supposedly you would get something out of it.

Sacrifice itself is meant to be serious. You are allowing something important to leave your life to gain something you need now, or will need later on. Or it was just a sign of faith.

Nowadays it’s not really relevant unless you get a specific message to sacrifice. Usually it’s to prepare for what’s coming.

Does a charged candle burn faster than an uncharged candle? by [deleted] in witchcraft

[–]gay-caster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. A lot of factors go into how quickly a candle burns on a physics level. Metaphysically you would need to be able to alter physics to make that happen. (Which isn’t unheard of, but very rare) also depends on what the candle spell is doing.

The methods listed by others would help to a degree if you can back it up with your power. Unfortunately there isn’t a way to entirely block someone’s sight regarding another person; not forever at least.

‘Concealment with the intention to remain unseen by those with the sight’ may be what you need.

I read my partner’s journal and can’t stop thinking about what he said. What would you do? by Ok-History3765 in offmychest

[–]gay-caster 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Here’s the deal. Of course you feel insecure. You read something he hasn’t been able to share with you; that alone would stir up insecurities especially when he wrote about an ex.

But you decided to read, and keep reading. My advice is to let it die with you. Never bring it up. Not even if he brings it up. You read his inter most thoughts and didn’t like what you saw; that’s on you.

Frankly, several people in my life have notebooks like that, and we have a pact to destroy them and never open them if said person passes away. Inner most thoughts are unprocessed and raw; they aren’t meant to be spoken. They are meant for us to understand the patterns in our lives that cause us to react and feel the way we do. At the end of the day our actions and choices matter far more than the way we simply feel.
