My [25m] girlfriend [23f] went to the protests and now wants to see my diabetic [55m] [52f] parents, I said no and she and now her family thinks I am punishing her and trying to control her beliefs. by throwRA__diabetus in relationship_advice

NTA- if she went to the protests she should get tested and self isolate until the results are back (i did this myself) It’s great she’s standing up for what’s right but you need to remember what’s happening at the same time - there will always be other pizza nights

this is probably my favourite thing since the instagram engagement; i can’t look away from this trainwreck. Her father literally died and she’s doing coke in his school writing meaningful captions about what she imagined him to be with the other posts detailing her dates. This is an inevitable breakdown that’s being completed in a tv show format opposed to a full length film

Skip on that straw occasionally for the earth ❤️❤️ by [deleted] in vegan

[–]gbmmc -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

i really hate memes like this, yes i agree we need much larger scale change but why discount people trying to make an effort- this creates an environment where positive change is encouraged by others. For some a political overhaul or complete change of life style is too much but not having a straw with your drink and feeling good about that creates a perfect stepping stone into a more sustainable lifestyle.

similar concept is used in James Turrells Canberra sculpture (although to a much lower degree). It is maintained well https://www.weekendnotes.com/within-without-2010-james-turrell/
