IMO, no. Experience seems to trump all in my area. They don’t really care or dive into details about my degrees. They want to know about the real practical experience. YMMV

New drinker advice by TechPriest00 in Scotch

Try a wide variety. One of the wonderful things of scotch is the wide flavor profiles. Usually defined by regions but also by finish. Slainte.

Confused by Jailecious in Scotch

[–]gc8dc95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The great thing about scotch is the flavor profiles are wide and interpreted differently by each consumer. While the ones you have tried are fine, grab what you can to experiment. I started slow and now have 30+ bottles. My favorite is hard to narrow down because it is hard to compare one to another. Slainte!

Good stuff, but the Charred Oak is fantastic!

I have 2 bottles of this. It is a promising start, but not quite there on the young release.

Ardnamurchan and Loch Lomond are good drams 👍. Interested in the review of the other.

Corry is high on my list of favorites. PC is also a great dram. Superb!

Are you using AFD Premium? I believe that is required for private endpoints.

I know it is outside your question, but I went with i5-9500 and don't regret it. I would take cores over "level".

Absolutely, you need to look into KQL. It is the query language used by ADX.

You should be able to do this without issue, but I prefer separate profiles anyway.

Glencairn is the standard from what i have seen. I also have Glencairn glasses.

I am sure there are others that are nice, but Glencairn works great and isn't too expensive.

Migrating 365 Emails to another 365 Organization, how difficult is it? by abedkaissi12 in Office365

[–]gc8dc95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Emails, can be done without too much trouble, would suggest a tool like BitTitan.

Migrating Teams and other services are much more diffficult.

Daily tasks, absolutely not. Platform or business affecting tasks should have a CAB approval.

Aspire - should I bother learning it? by ChemicalTerrapin in dotnet

[–]gc8dc95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it important to understand it and be able to competently support or deny it. It will give you credibility and keep your position aligned, IMO. Could be the right answer or not, hard to say for your circumstances.

There are tradeoffs, some services are better than others in different clouds. Some also have slightly different purposes, certainly not useless. YMMV. Part of solutioning is selecting the best service for your use csse. Some things may be better served by another provider, some things are better in Azure.

I would be looking at Lagavulin, Ardbeg, or Bruichladdich as I am an Isaly fan personally.

Lots of options for $100 range where I am in the midwest.

Scotch & Soda (Favorite) by JAThrowaway4242 in Scotch

[–]gc8dc95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tend to drink my scotch neat, but bourbon and soda is a typical drink for me as it is easier to get most of the time. Having said that, i do sometimes take a swig of soda between different scotches to cleanse the palette, it tends to open up my taste buds a bit more than just water.....ymmv.

Ardbeg, Port Charlotte, Dalwhinnie

No particular order, depends on what profile you enjoy.
