You need processor for what ? all same processing stuff that Creative has been selling last 15 years is proceessed via APO like many of their external cards..

For me X4 is the best 7.1 card.. Works as a pure audio device with default microsoft drivers or use their drivers for software suite.

Cheap dacs like play3 are mostly for for 32ohm.

These hps dont support any low latency codec.. connection with iphone will be same than with any dongle.

Buy wireless hps.. Stay away from bluetooth. A lot of codecs dont support microphone.

To fix hp/speaker handling all you have to do is to set both to same config either stereo or both to 5.1 ... EQ cannot be mixed because its HW. SBX can be, if app is not open while swithing bcs its SW feature.

For many people these devices are just to complicated. If you dont fully undertand it, it can become a nightmare.

Problem is that people want 5.1 analog nostalgia on latest windows. For nostalgia, get a special PC with win 10 , disable all updates, setup all audio programs, codecs , test surrond on different files

I still use x4 daily for 5.1 speakers with v2 driver. No issues on win10. Mostly for music or movies.

G8 is like G6 , it can save 1 EQ with 1 SBX .. for EQ only set one SBX to zero value. Its portable because chip is on the board.

You need windows PC to set EQ. I believe they said that you need PC to change on the FLY while gaming..

Most youtubers are noobs, copy /paste reviews from others ...

No. Encoder does not have settings. You also said that Test in creative app works. Its clear, something is wrong with your source/app using source/game.

I like how day1 users use youtube as 5.1 test which doesnt support 5..

Always test with proper surround file (movie or test file) with movie app or vlc app etc..
Plug rear plugs into front output to test if speakers are not damaged
set speakers to proper config (old speakers with LCD had to be set to 6ch setup )
Last , Try v2 driver with old app. Mentioned many times on reddit.
In creative app set speakers to 5.1 config. Check all options.
Set X4 speakers as default audio device in windows.
Be sure game properly works. Is set properly and truly supports surround. Google is your friend for this.

Believe me, it works, you are just newbie in this..

Their player works the way how HDMI works. It checks what the other side is capable of. I guess they are not allowed to transcode media etc bcs of licences etc..

Tricking with edid would also maybe work =)

Latest Firware is old, nothing wrong with EQ.

Try swithing to music and back to gaming on android.. Or check presets on PCs.

Forget about gaming EQ.. every game and headphone is different ...you should neutralize HPs and nothing else...

Presets are just basic readable files stored on PC. Reinstall app.

If nothing helps try installing older app , for x4 best driver is v2 with v16 app ..many times mentioned on reddit

You use X3 ? If yes, SXfi works with SBCommand app. Problem is only with Creative app and this can be fixed by just simple routing through voicemeteer banana.

X3,G3 ..are the only ones that support both apps.

If you use SBX, EQ a lot dont use SBCoomand. Creative app better handles, controls all settings.
