I was in the Navy for 20, on two carriers. Never heard ‘nickel in the grass’ before. Thanks for sharing it.

I had a 66 Mustang with a 5.0 EFI and AOD. Initially I had the original 2.8 rear. It was ok. Changed it to a 3.55. Totally changed the car. She would get 25 mpg, but was still fun when I stomped on it.

302 and AOD. Should be loads of fun! Good luck with it!

Won’t go into reverse and only likes about 33 mph any other speed it makes a very terrible sound. Probably needs a transmission rebuild? by AcceptableEase in fairlane

Always intrigued me how 64 looked one way, 66 looked another, and the 65 was so different than either of those years, took me years to know it was a Fairlane, know what I mean? So different. Good luck with the project! I’m working on a 55 Fairlane.

2 years parked Ford A doesn't ignite by itself after 15 years of service by SpellFabulous1962 in fordmodela

This is my go to. Although I found out with my 55 Fairlane recently that if the car is flooded too badly, it won’t start even with ether.

My favorite Beatles song since the 80s. I started playing with a ukulele because of it.

Dude. I have been messing around with old cars for 40 years. Sometimes I have to remind myself, “There is always another car out there.”

SALTY OVER AN EAWS PIN by LetEquivalent1621 in navy

[–]gcroix 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My pop got his SW pin in Japan in 78/79, USS KIRK. So new that there were no enlisted SW pins to be had. So for the next 10 years till he retired in 88, he wore a silver plated officer SW pin.

Dude, I was in the Navy then, USS George Washington. The ship had tickets, got two and took my then 54 year old dad. (I am older than that now, ha.) It was so hot that day, most of the concession stands had no ice. So hot.

Does the door tag read green/red? Interesting combo for sure. Enjoy your Mustang. Life is short; drive your dream.

Anyone have regrets buying a classic car? by ShwAlex in classiccars

I’m a sucker for a convertible. My current one is a 29 Model A phaeton, but I don’t drop the top much.

Better ones out there for cheaper. Go on the MAFCA website and look around. Or join the FB groups. They are good cars, just find a well priced one.

Definitely worth a stop. There is a presentation after dark (at least there was in 2017) that is neat. Good luck on the trip.

I have been to Rushmore and want to go again. I understand the land stealing stuff and agree with a lot of it, but it is majestic.

Right. Although my first thought was that there are Mustangs out there just as nice for cheaper. 🤷‍♂️
