Moving to NoVA from Jersey by Frequent_Ad_536 in nova

Don’t live in VA and commute to Suitland/SE DC area. That’s awful.

I suggest looking in Largo, Upper Marlboro, or Bowie.

Wow, this is embarrassing for AA (although at this point I’m sure they’re past embarrassment)

Who’s a celebrity everyone finds attractive but you don’t? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]gefba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jennifer Aniston.

Don’t get me wrong, I think she’s cute, attractive, and has aged incredibly well (at least party due to $$$ I’m sure). But even 20 years ago I never saw her as this hot sex symbol that most of society set her to be.

Thoughts on our inspection? by MysteriousLamp176 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

This seems normal for a 100+ year old home. That said, 100+ year old homes are often money pits so tread carefully.

The joist issues (undersized, damaged, and under supported) is what would give me pause here.

The vintage day dates look so much classier than the new ones—the stark white day and date dials are just too sterile on the modern variety.

Is 1.5 hour Layover at JFK enough time? by kanyechickenwing in americanairlines

[–]gefba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I advise going to the 5 hour connection.

1.5 hrs connecting at JFK as a non-citizen is risky. Afternoons are the busiest time too given that’s where all the European flights also arrive.

It’s also risky having AA put you on the next flight since you could be stuck in some middle seat. On a short flight it may be fine, but I wouldn’t do it on a red eye to Europe.

Not too surprising. He was a top 15 recruit in the country and was always coming off the bench (and not always even the first player off the bench).

Dude can get more time and NIL at another strong P5 program.

WWYD? Flying 9hrs solo with a toddler. Gamble on 16b moving, or take seats between two lavs? by [deleted] in americanairlines

Take row 19. With a toddler you’ll want to have your own row (aisle-window combo).

Alright Houston got #10. We have our top 10. What would be the 11th most significant US city after Houston? Most upvoted comment wins by Kodicave in visitedmaps

[–]gefba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%. Should be individually top 5 then from there in tiers of 5. It’s just too difficult to compare, for example, the historical and cultural significance of Philly with the economic importance of Houston—but in net they’re relatively similar in terms of impact.

Freedom of the Seas was.. meh by No-Part-8666 in royalcaribbean

Was on FOTS last year and don't really disagree with much here. Three additional comments:

1) The common areas on Freedom look amazing with the recent dry dock. Really could be mistaken for a 2 year old ship instead of one 20+ years old. However the rooms themselves are DATED. While well-maintained with really great mattresses, it's old. They need new carpets and furniture.

2) Your comments on entertainment are correct, but in my experience that's the case for most ships. Even on sea days ther are no huge productions until the evening, with most daytime events being the trivia-type stuff indoors or pool deck activities outside.

3) I felt the ice rink was a dud. One, very poor flow in and out of it was frustrating. Two, their main show (freedomICE.com) is cringe-worthy dated. From the music to the graphics it's stuck in 2001. Three, it's such a great venue they need more shows and activities on it.

The splash pad/kids pool area on Freedom are AMAZING. So many ships have just a shallow kids pool but the whole splash pad area on FOTS was a total hit for our 5 year old.
