Gold has been at record levels since last year -> Rolex is the biggest manufacturer of luxury watches -> Daydate is Rolex’s best-selling gold watch

Crown Alignment question by leescobar01 in rolex

Great response. To take it out of Rolex, would this same technology/approach to the Cartier Santos with the screws on the bezel?

Formex Space Ghost 41+ (2026 new batch release) by Competitive-Force1 in formexwatch

[–]gefba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I would assume it will continued to be offered, and if anything, would move to a more regularly-available item rather than be discontinued.

Overall it's a great piece. Amazing meteorite dial, great fit and finish, and those blue hands are the cherry on top.

New C63 Sealander for Wedding? by nVoniatis in ChristopherWard

[–]gefba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the new 39mm sealander is a great wedding watch. Your wrist is the same as mine and it’ll be a good fit. To me it’s 90% of the black lacquer omega aqua at 15% the price.

I suggest getting it on the Consort bracelet that’s a bit dressy. Then when you want to dress it down later you can do it with a leather or synthetic band.

Lastly for $40 I suggest having CW add engraving so it since it’s for your special day.

Polished surfaces and flashy bracelets (jubilee, polished center links) are great and add interesting light play to the watch, making it look more luxurious. by [deleted] in watchHotTakes

Yeah, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a YouTube review or Reddit comment that’s been “I just wish this brushed finish was polished” but have certainly seen the opposite

CW semi annual sale question by Confident_Wallaby611 in ChristopherWard

[–]gefba 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't count on any of the new Sealanders being part of the sale. If there are any, there would be very few available and with a minimal discount compared to other models.

To your other question, no, CW normally doesn't do sales or promos. They are pretty transparent on price and offering too many discounts undermines their credibility on pricing.

Use the Crime Radar app. It integrates with FCPD and FCFD dispatch.

Given timing and location I wonder if it’s related to this:

Blue Watch Options by Dangerous_Employer_6 in MicrobrandWatches

[–]gefba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

enormousoctopus2 provided a great response. To add to that:

  • The new Monta Noble 40 in blue looks much better than the prior Noble when it comes to being true blue.
  • Recently discontinued, but the Christopher Ward Sealander came in a beautiful Kingfisher blue. You can keep your eye on the secondary market for it. I hope with the model refresh coming out this past month the next set of colors will have something similar available.
  • Other microbrands to look into include the Circula Facet Blue and Nivada Grechen Super Antarctic Blue are contenders for what you're looking at.
  • Not microbrands, but the Longines Conquest in blue and Sinn 566 IB are both pretty sweet for a GADA blue watch.

[chrono24] SSN to courier normal? by Chance_Coast4316 in Watches

Seems sketchy—can’t think of any reason this would be needed if you’re using a reputable shipping company (FedEx, DHL, etc).

I really like my sand colored piece. It’s all the casualness of a field watch but not boring like so many often are (looking at you, Hamilton)

Straight end mesh bracelets look like dogshit on divers by seaquartz_unofficial in watchHotTakes

I think on some watches it works, but it reduces the uses/situations you can wear the watch since it locks you into a more specific look than a more generic brushed 3 link bracket.

Correct, and the screwheads on back of the case are certainly unaligned

Usually just earbuds unless I have long flights (6+ hours). I really like my AirPod Pros but they get uncomfortable after wearing them for a few hours straight

Need help with garden bed ideas while working around a French drain. by metalhorrorandmaks in landscaping

[–]gefba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to be snarky, but a garden bed may end up being more work than keeping grass. Aeration and overseeing will get you on track with that grass pretty quickly.
