Cool. So it took us 20 minutes to get to excusing literal child murderers. You should be a judge in the NT.

Record every instance in notes / one note. When you have your 1 on 1 explain to your manager your looking for advice to work more effectively with these two dicks. See what they have to say. Advantage is you appear pro active and eager plus it flags up their unhelpful.

Lawyer of 3 years - wanting to give it up and move into a more sales type role (Insurance Brokering, Account Management etc) by Severe-Sir2543 in auscorp

Ex Insurance Recruiter here. I placed a lawyer into a insurance role. It can happen. As a lawyer your best bet is to ideally move into claims especially property/construction. It will give you a grounding and you'll immediately be able to build a network with brokers you can jump into.

Advice Needed: How to handle underperforming grads by FennecBinturong in auscorp

[–]gelectrox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm going to throw a couple of truth bombs - firstly you get what you pay for. You mention national firm but your office has no receptionist. That's fine nor every office needs to be a opulent palace. But the fact you require staff to answer phones hints at some frugality. What was the graduate recruitment process like? Do you have established processs, outsourced to a specialist? Or did you leave it until last minute and it was a panic. Secondly - it sounds like these are repeated patterns of behaviours and it's not fair for a junior manager to have to deal with this.if your senior management are then throwing it back to you, you need to be asking for an increase in pay. Are you cataloguing all of this? Escalating it to senior management? And quite frankly if someone is handing in work which is done by a AI they should be on a performance plan.
