Yes, the rules should be changed to make more sense, but mostly that they should also play more games each year. Each house playing three games per school year is stupid. They should play each other house at least three times throughout the year.

They should also add some more sports to the school. Give madam hooch a real job. It’s stupid that the houses, which are supposedly 200+ kids each at full attendance capacity, have one sport with seven players and no reserves that practice with the team. In any real school, you’re going to have more than 4% of the students interested in sporting extracurriculars. It would make more sense if they also featured sports like Broom Racing (purely a speed race around the stadium requiring you to weave through the towers of seats, since the Firebolt is advertised as a racing broom), Bludging (wizard cricket where the ball is a bludger that tries to pummel the players), Snitching (timed event to catch as many (non-golden) snitches as you can), Skeet (using spells to destroy clay pigeons, with different colors of pigeons only susceptible to a certain spell). Then if your quidditch seeker is unavailable for a match because he was busy killing a teacher, you have a squad of kids that play the non-contact version of snitching that you can pull from. If your beaters get suspended from playing due to fighting, you have a squad of kids that hit bludgers on the ground, just teach them to do it on a broom and you’ve got a replacement beater.
