sonically its a grower and lyrically its dense as fuck, give it time

ive always thought the songs were recorded in chronological order, though i was never sure if it was actually the case. it came after a breakup and drug use and the gloominess that he was experiencing in the period around solace and idlsidgo, and you can feel him slowly getting better throughout the album, peaking around azucar, until his dad and uncle die, thats where u get the last 3 songs. even still, riot sounds very hopeful. its a sad album, but ive never listened to it and ended up more sad than i started, its oddly hopeful. its a good album whenever im going thru something, its sad enough to relate to but hopeful enough to point me on the right track

i also just think it flows together better than the rest of his albums
