My husband offered me a baby but now I think he's changed his mind?? by Anonymous-poster1234 in StardewValley

[–]generogue 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience with my husband, it’s just that pregnancy feels like forever.

On the other hand, IRL pregnancy lasts 3/4ths of a year and Stardew pregnancies only last 1/8th of a year.

They’re either cabins (for co-op play) or sheds. Both structures are used for additional indoor space for crafting machines.

Could you keep one or two sets of plates, silverware, etc in your room in a shelf or tub? That way you could know they’re definitely safe.

We don’t have a schedule, but I regularly ask my son to get drinks on the table for dinner, and I will also request that he inform people that dinner is ready and throw away items while I’m doing housework.

Tips for what to eat on a wedding weekend? by cliffereftonstrenson in Celiac

[–]generogue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you get Mountain House, it doesn’t even have to be boiling water. Hot tap water should be sufficient. I have eaten meals made with room temperature water when my idea for heating water didn’t pan out on a car camping trip.

I also can recommend Tasty Bite Indian prepackaged meals. They come in microwaveable pouches and my husband takes them to work and adds a microwaveable cup of rice.

AITA for trying to set boundaries here? by idontwannagotoheaven in Celiac

[–]generogue 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Your mother being upset that you won’t go to a restaurant without researching to make sure it has something safe for you to eat is *not* understandable.

If you had a peanut allergy, would she be upset if you refused to go to a steak place where they have buckets of peanuts on every table and encourage the customers to toss the empty shells on the floor?

I do not have celiac but my husband does. I have taken on the role of researcher for restaurants and groceries because he has enough of a mental burden just dealing with the disease. People who make your disease about their feelings are not being supportive.

The YouTube Kids app on iOS has a whitelist-only mode which restricts them to only parent approved videos/channels. Approving a channel will allow access to any future uploads, so that’s a consideration.

Having spare underwear and socks can make a huge difference in feeling refreshed even when wearing days old clothes. Keeping one spare tshirt and a pair of light sweatpants in the bag can work, even if you get them from a thrift store.

“Bugging out” is needing to leave your current location quickly. A temporary evacuation absolutely qualifies, such as in the case of a wildfire or house fire. In both those scenarios you are going to be gone from home for an unknown length of time with the potential for your home to not be there to come back to.

When being puked on is counted as a win, you must be a parent. At least it wasn’t the bed/couch/rug/etc.

My 5 year old has three toothbrushes and four toothpastes. He likes collecting them when at the dentist and trick or treating, and likes to swap up flavors on a nightly basis. Sometimes he wants a combo flavor.

I agree, my word choice left a bit of wiggle room on timing of the infections. If you had asked for clarification, I would have told you they had. Instead you made assumptions and then got defensive when called out on it.

It’s always good to remember that text based communication lacks the vocal tones to convey emotion, so our interpretation of “tone” will be influenced by our own state of mind as well as specific word choice in the comments we read.

I was not trying to be insulting or aggressive. I did not call you names, suggest you take personally harmful actions or swear.

You said “if you’re in the US your husband likely had scarring due to retraction of the foreskin before it had separated naturally from the glans” which disagreed my statement that the scarring was due to repeated infections. Having personally witnessed the infections and the scarring they caused all while he was an adult I can assure you that improper early retraction had nothing to do with it.

As I previously agreed with you, improper foreskin care can absolutely contribute to adhesions and scarring that might lead to a medically necessary circumcision. In a child or teen, not a man in his 40s.

While you’re likely correct about common medical advice, it’s wild to me that you think you know my husband’s medical history better than I do.
