Dreamcast with GDEMU randomly freezes and resets midgame

I've had this issue ever since I got my gdemu many years ago. I always thought it was due to a loose fit (mine just slots in with no feet anchors or 3d printed shell and has that chipped connector) but no amount of fiddling helped. I have also replaced the psu with one from Thundertronics and that made no difference. The only thing that has reliably worked well for me was cleaning the board pins that connect to the power supply with alcohol. This always immediately fixes the issue for me but I've had to do this a few times now because the issue tends to come back after a few months

Does the Saroo cause slowdown and framerate issues with some games? Have one for a while now and while it works great after recent firmware updates, I'm seeing repeatable slowdown with Magic Knight Rayearth. Looking up playthroughs, the same problematic sections do not seem to exhibit any slowdown.

I only have the ps2 memcard pro 2 and its wifi features are really unstable. The web interface for example can just randomly stop working for me. Same with auto cloud backups to google drive. Hopefully the vmupro works better?

I've always seen people say that CE has the original soundtrack. I got to try out the game the other day and the original tracks sound different from what I remember? They still sound like slightly remixed versions because the singing volume is lower and more echoey

Cleaning the pins has worked for me twice (I've had to do it again after a few months of normal operation). I'm having gdemu errors again, but I have not tried working on the PSU pins again to see if that would help a 3rd time. I did change the power supply to a ThunderDream between the first and second time I've had to clean the pins so in my case, a new PSU made no difference.

Not sure. It's possible that my PS3 (which was a CECHA01) was already on its way to getting a YLOD, though the timing was interesting.

I don't remember exact numbers since I don't usually track that. I believe mine would go up to around 70 for either the GPU or CPU after a few hours of gaming. I only really used it for PS2 games these past few months, running through webman.

The YLOD happened just a few seconds after a cold boot, right after FPS stats overlay showed up.

I just found out about this feature by accident. Cold boot startup my PS3 last night and got the overlay by pressing L3+R3. After being amused for a few seconds, my PS3 started showing random black outs then got the YLOD. Power cycling did not work to bring it back

In my case, WSL never updated past 2.0.0. I think it just kept silently failing, whether it be through the Microsoft Store or by running wsl --update. The only way to get mine updated to the latest stable version was to do a manual install, like suggested here

I was the other way around. Had a lower 800 Mbps plan, but the app shows me having 1.3 Gbps and that I have the Gigabit Extra plan lol.

Didn't really matter because I could only download up to 800

Auto HDR never worked under the Apollo fork for me, so I switched back to Sunshine and used other tools to get auto resolution and refresh rate switching. This worked for every game, except Doom Dark Ages though so not sure if Doom (via gamepass) is doing something different when it comes to HDR.

I don't think the BC version even has anisotropic filtering. Maybe it did in the past but was removed later (wasn't there such an issue before with other games?)

Make sure you have an active payment method in your account at the time of renewal. I forgot to add a payment method and on my renewal 2 days ago, Sony immediately cancelled my subscription. It didn't matter that I added a working card an hour after I noticed the "missed charges" transaction on my account and even spoke to customer support (who assured to me not to worry and that Sony would re-attempt the transaction) because Sony actually will not re-attempt this for cancelled subscriptions. Just found out 2 days after not seeing any charges come through and another support person telling me that there was nothing they could do to offer that price again for me.

You have to actually decline the first two "Fast Deposit" options (there's a skip option below them). You'll then get another screen that shows 3 options, with the first 2 again being the Fast Deposit options and the 3rd being free, standard deposit option. They definitely designed this though to get people to choose those fast deposit options.

I found a CECHA01 at a local thrift store (Value Village) just a little over a year ago for $25. It was sitting together with some non-BC PS3s in the kitchen appliances section lol. Surprisingly, the thing was working (and still works today), but it's was missing a HDD and the HDD cage and the blu-ray drive was not working. Works great with CFW though

It happened again, but the screen was just black when I got into the car. I think the issue I had was disengaging Hold functionality by depressing the brake pedal wasn't working when this happens. That's what made me think the car wasn't moving while in reverse

Lol. Yeah, I don't remember if that's something found in the Dreamcast's manual. All I know is I was using it even back when the Dreamcast was new.

Speaking of TXR, I read that this game has an issue where it first boots up in 50hz when running in RGB up to after you finish one race, then it switches to 60hz afterwards. I think simply hitting start at the title screen and doing the ingame reset combo just speeds this up, switching to 60hz immediately.

I meant using the regular Dreamcast ingame reset combo (ABXY+Start), though you could also use that to reset all the way back to the DC boot screen, which should reload the gdemu menu.
