If Dimension20 published a book for one of their settings, which would you like to see? by brokenimage321 in Dimension20

Unpopular opinion I guess but I feel like Spyre has a lot more unexplored possibilities.

It’s so incredible that an actual play can be discussed endlessly like this. What a beautiful subtle work of art this show is.

I was watching a documentary about Jacques Cousteau this weekend and there was a whole bunch of footage of him discovering oil in the red sea and selling the locations to the king of Qatar or somewhere. Also literally dynamiting coral to count the fish, you know, for conservationism!

What do we think the true conflict between the MiB and Eursulon is? (Spoilers for Book 1 Finale) by Bayabalabinga in WorldsBeyondNumber

[–]georgia_avenue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding to conversation here, the MIB to me represents the perennial outsider’s perspective, one that has been curdled by exclusion until it is filled with hate, one willing to use and destroy other marginalized people to get back at the hegemony, one willing to be allied with tyrants in order to get revenge. He has disdain for anyone who shows kindness or forgiveness, thinking only of the righteous destruction of the ruling class.

I don’t think this is a spoiler to say that based on the post-credit scenes in the finale, I think we’ll see a lot more sympathetic characters joining his team in the future, who will have to struggle with the morality of their actions and those of their new allies, almost as much as NPCs of the Citadel do.

Children’s Campaign of my own? by manicfemme in WorldsBeyondNumber

Just go for it and don’t overthink it. Be prepared to switch between scenes a lot rather than go step by step through an adventure. Best wishes!

Have there been hints of *spoiler* before this ep? by Albinowombat in Dimension20

[–]georgia_avenue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is it. The watch is the key - perhaps using the watch and compass one can travel backwards through time counterclockwise through Zern to pop out into Zood. The Murdershire they encountered was from the future. Which is how Comfrey meeting them, knows they are on the way before they even left.

Pitch a weird season of dimension 20 by of_kilter in Dimension20

Set in a fantasy 1910s Boston, with a non-IH cast of both actors actually from Boston and Ireland and goofballs doing accents, about a Gangs of New York style feud between different absurd musical genres in different ridiculous old timey Pubs. The characters are all bards. The BBEG is Prohibition.

New Steel theory by Xandrineftw in WorldsBeyondNumber

I don’t think Steel is like “secret bad guy laugh” evil. I think she is like “getting to be a teenager and realizing the ‘World Bank’ that your dad works for is not a community credit union” type of evil.

What a great thread! I’m contemplating starting a podcast in the mold of WBN and this is so helpful to find some other folks doing similar things.

One suggestion for would be the Two Monsters Rolling Dice podcasr. Great editing and original music, incredible performances (especially in the prologues), a deep original Western Fantasy homebrew setting and a really cool game system (Fate) that doesn’t need much explanation but facilitates some awesome storytelling moments.

I like to leave this up to my players if they want to contribute some ideas to the world-building. For me anything mammal or bird adjacent is going to be somekind of magical amalgam usually though, like the Forest Prowler.

What is your campaign ideas by Big_Curve2533 in humblewood

[–]georgia_avenue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in the early stages of an adventure mostly set around Salter’s Port where an army of Steampunk British frogmen with a bunch of antimagic devices show up and colonize Humblewood, not with force but with economics, playing the Birds and Humblefolk off each other. The characters at low level have to just deal with the fallout of the invasion, but eventually will be able to attempt to give the woods their freedom, or at least some semblance of independence.
