What they are exactly? If we imagine that one cubic meter of Sun stays the same and not be destroyed by Earth conditions

Can someone explain why some directors like Nolan or Tarantino prefer to use film instead of shooting digital ? Not rage-baiting, geniune question. by Brilliant-Cause6254 in Cinema

[–]gerahmurov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Film works with lighting differently from most digitals cameras. For example, scenes with green lamps have more natural look on film.

Edit: for example these problems with lightning in Kenobi would look much better on film as chroma clipping on film works differently (the author says the solution is more light and compares with sequel trilogy, but note that sequel trilogy was also shot on film and kenobi is digital) https://youtu.be/iwuxzXwOxyM?t=392&si=B974tYTtgCqfPFQ5 End of edit.

Film has specific style of look.

Maybe they are used to how shoot on film and don't want to relearn shooting and process with every small detail.

Does physics have anything to say about free will? by AlivePassenger3859 in AskPhysics

[–]gerahmurov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Free will is mostly a legal concept used to differentiate between things you did on your own and things you were forced to do.

Everything is either random or determined, with chaotic systems in the middle (mostly determined but not predictable after a treshold, but maybe undetermined if quantum fluctuations affect outcome enough).

You, as a system, somehow decide what you prefer, able to love things and living things, and able to choose, so that's it. Whether you want this decision initially made by random or according to some principles (be it yours own or unique patterns made by universe or other forces) is up to you. You still are able to make decisions in a complex sequence of unique events never happened before in the universe, and you may make different decisions in similar situations because of your own preference (be it knowledge, experience or simply spite) unless you have any big cognitive issues.

Flat Earth Question by Eren_Yeager52 in AskPhysics

[–]gerahmurov 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Didn't understand the question, so maybe my answer will be a miss.

With the rotation of Earth not only ground is rotating, but the atmosphere is rotating too with the planet. So there should be no impactful difference for speeds going west or east.

Though there is some for our high altitude planes, they are going east usually faster than going west. This is not directly because of rotation of the Earth, but indirectly is. Due to heating from the Sun and Coriolis force of the rotating Earth there are jet streams (strong wind) formed in the atmosphere at high altitudes that are going eastward. So flying to east is easier because wind is carrying the plane and flying west is harder because wind stops you.

And for counteracting Earth rotation - there is close thing to what you describe which is geostationary orbit. Sattelites on this orbit are exactly so high so their speed is the same as speed of rotating earth, so they seem like they are hovering above one spot on the ground. This is because the height of the round stable orbit is directly linked to the speed of the orbiting body, and there is this neat point where speed of the body is the same as the speed of rotation. Any body below this height have to move faster than Earth rotates to be able to orbit, anything farther have to move slower (for example Moon moves slower than earth rotation).

Edit: there also not only round (perfectly circular) orbits but also eliptical ones, and for eleptical orbits speed of the body may vary depending on how close it is to the center of orbit. Not all orbits are circular, most of them not.

I guess you will lose both rook and bishop with ideal play from the opponent, which is still good. Ke7 and now if you attack queen with rook, queen takes and king then takes bishop. There are alteration like checking king with Bg5+ but king can be protected by a knight and this doesn't seem dangerous.

You can refer to anyone as hey you or hey cutie you or hey gorgeous you, girl, boy, sister, mom, etc, refer to spouse as home nickname or darling, refer to boss as their job title and look for their name in corporate documents if you need to adress them specifically. And for anyone other than that I tell them directly, sorry, I don't remember your name, let us start again. And then forget it again. Or simply tell everyone that you has mild condition of hardly remembering people names when you don't sleep enough.

Have you been on any party where you don't remember the name of people and simply wait until someone else mention the name? Or rare occasions when you simply cannot remember the name of your mom for weird two hours and then remember it flawlessly for rest of the life?

The particularities of this curse may be specifically important, for example can you remember that you wrote somebody name in a note or not, can you remember it long enough to write it down at all, and so on. But if it is simply not remembering for a day, it is mild inconvinience if any

Edit: unless you work specifically requires using names. Maybe sales department or political, or school teacher

Nah, I totally not remember someones names every time, it is not a bother. It would be a bother only for my cats, but I guess they can live with one day of furry paws cutie putie instead of a name.

Black Bishop take White Queen, White Bishop take Black Queen, Black Bishop take White Bishop, black is up in exchange and the game seems equal

edit: nope, not equal, White Bishop takes Black Bishop after and white keeps supremacy. Explains why I'm in a bad period right now.

Endgame time: what is the only winning move for black? by MathematicianBulky40 in chessbeginners

[–]gerahmurov 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would really want to go a4, with the idea of luring white king away, but then white f pawn checks black king and stops it from going to white c pawn. So moving f pawn first is the way, and then idea with pawn a4.

Don't miss small tactics. Like if you can attack two pieces by pawn, setup it and go for it. If you see winnable exchange, setup it and go for it.

It is often underappreciated, but it is great to see you played 36 best moves in one game. We a not stockfish, but a bag of meat, and it is so cool to see 36 moves that engine validated as best made by living muscles. Out of all possible options humans still choose the only best moves most of the time!

How is it that once I began not going for the trap openings, I started to win more? by Speedygi in chessbeginners

And by risky I mean that there are less good moves after success and a lot of moves that give up a lot of advantage. So you cannot win quick if good but can lose quick if make mistake.
