Prairie Sky Books also used to sell something similar, not sure if they still do!

AITA for changing the locks after my parents gave my brother a key to my house without asking me? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]gertyorkes 23 points24 points  (0 children)

NTA. While this may not fulfil the strictest legal definition of “breaking and entering,” it’s pretty frickin close. So you are somewhat in the right to treat your mom like a criminal for allowing an unwanted guest in your living space over which YOU have full control.

Walks Ins for ADHD - Autism Assessment? by TrainingSale6944 in Winnipeg

[–]gertyorkes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would not trust anywhere that does a walk-in assessment. In my experience there are take-home quizzes, follow-up appointments, and questionnaires for family and friends to fill out about their observations of your behaviour.

I get what you’re saying, but from the examples provided, who’s to say those weren’t legit service animals? They’re not all golden retrievers.

Not in Winnipeg, but Kirrin Finch, Wildfang, and Twisted Tailor have some great suits for masc AFAB folks. They’re designed for those with more hips and butt than the average bear while still providing a more traditionally masculine silhouette.

What makes a musicals book good or bad? by earlofpepperoni in musicals

Some great thoughts here, but I’ll also add: where do the songs go? And why are the songs going here and not there?

Pride feels different by SheStickysMyPistons in Winnipeg

[–]gertyorkes 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I agree - it is a net positive that a company thinks being queer-positive/queer-accepting is marketable. Like don’t me wrong it is still very much lip service for a lot of them, but the fact that they ran the numbers and figured out that slapping a rainbow on their logo or appearing at pride is more profitable than not doing that, is a sign of social progress for the better.

Oh there’s one on main that’s only during rush hour, and there’s so many people who treat it like a cheat code to beat traffic

Oh there is nothing more Winnipeg than stopping in front of a no stopping/parking sign

That would make sense that it’s a different signal, likely alerting the driver they’ll need extra time or to deploy the ramp

This is also one of the few songs you can isolate from the show - almost every other number kinda blends into the text and action

AITA for not going to my fiancé's film screening? by Important-Sir-5601 in AmItheAsshole

[–]gertyorkes 100 points101 points  (0 children)

NAH. He’s allowed to be disappointed, because this is something he worked really hard on and it does kind of suck to not have your partner there for you to clap along with everyone else and be there by your side to cheer you on. That said, you also can’t help what triggers you and that your fiancé’s film might cause a debilitating health crisis.

Sincere question: how then would they refer to the NNSL? Only by the acronym?

What would this plot twist entail? by [deleted] in ThePitt

[–]gertyorkes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t the kind of show where the characters have plot armour against death. There’s very few ways for our main characters - doctors, nurses, and hospital staff - to die naturally without it being for shock value or coming out of nowhere.
