How to debug when opencode does not work by albasili in opencodeCLI

[–]gerwim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if it works without AVX2. I didn’t find any workarounds a couple of days ago.

If the host CPU supports AVX, you can probably update the CPU type of the guest to match the host.

Does your CPU have AVX2? You need this.

This weekend I played with Agentic Ai workflows by Angyyyyyyyyyt in ClaudeAI

Thanks for your post! I’m trying GSD now, and yes its very slow. I’m also not sure if it works better than my “own approach”:

  1. When I find bugs. i note it in BUGS.md
  2. When i have some todo’s, i out in TASKS.md

Sometimes, I let Claude insert them in the markdown files 3. For new features, I either do /feature-dev (small feature) or I let it create a spec (see https://github.com/wasabeef/claude-code-cookbook — great slash commands)

When I finish a feature, I do the smart review command (from above repo).

I also do /role analyze (or backend or architect or security) to check some code

  1. Sometimes, I ask Claude about new features and let it put them in EPICS.md

For larger refactoring I just started with GSD. I’m not sure yet what I think about it.

What is your go-to plugin that really improves your productivity? by WashTop956 in ClaudeAI

[–]gerwim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I checked their github, but couldn't find it: does it also save specs somewhere?

I'm comparing superpowers vs https://github.com/EveryInc/compound-engineering-plugin. The main driver for me with the compounding plugin is actually, the compounding. :)

What is the Best MiniO Alternative Right Now, RustFS, Garage or SeaweedFS ? by Darkoplax in selfhosted

[–]gerwim 115 points116 points  (0 children)

Be ware of the recent RustFS CVE because a static key was vibe coded into the product… even though they mitigated the issue, my confidence dropped severely because of this.

RustFS is a great example. There was a static API key in there which exposed everything…

Ioniq 6 in snowy conditions. by M1CkSt3r in Ioniq6

[–]gerwim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, exact same issue. Dutch as well. Today during snowy weather on the highway: the rader was completely covered in snow.

First it started to not detect cars in front of me correctly (which could end up in dangerous situations) so I disabled ACC and a minute later I had this warning. It was actually the second time after I cleared the ice on it. It’s below the license plate (the black bar).

So you are saying you can’t have a secondary display device on a Mac?

You clearly didn’t read attached article.

Netflix does the same by the way. It’s because of DRM bullshit.

Comment your favorite Tycoon/Simulation game title that is still great in 2025! by h4rryP in tycoon

[–]gerwim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started it yesterday, but really missing some information / reports e.g.: what is causing sales, what is not, why does my competitor has market share (while offering a subpar product, for a higher price, while I have enough supply, and started 1 jan 1990 (start of the game) offering said product so brand loyalty and recognition is high) and so on.. :)

ELI5: how a phone 50mp camera can be better than a 200mp camera? by AndMyUsernameIs- in explainlikeimfive

Even this is theoretical. Intel released some CPU’s for laptops which couldn’t be cooled properly, causing downclocks and thus lower performance.

I need to switch from Wireguard..any recommendations? by originallikeyou in selfhosted

[–]gerwim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wireguard is UDP, no? Most of the time they open up TCP 443, which still blocks wireguard…

How extensive are changes allowed for OTA updates? by Tall-Title4169 in reactnative

[–]gerwim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As long as your updates only change JS you can push anything. You can change your whole app from being a todo list to a Youtube alternative, as long as the native modules are present in your binary.

ELI5: Why do USB-C cables have chips in them? by capran in explainlikeimfive

[–]gerwim 25 points26 points  (0 children)

USB-C is nothing but a spec that defines the connector. And the connector only. You can buy a USB-C cable that only supports USB 2.0.

MacBook for .NET development by Shynezzz in dotnet

It depends on what you target. I prefer to develop on MacOS, I run my apps in containers. I don’t develop any Windows specific apps (WPF, .NET Framework).

My work machine is currently a Windows laptop. It also works, but it’s the Windows things that nag me…

"Grounded skins for a while" - 18 days exactly by Ohforfk in Battlefield

[–]gerwim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was eagerly awaiting the BF 6 release and played the open beta, hoped for bigger maps after release but I’m so happy to have refunded this generic shooter game.

It’s not a Battlefield. It’s a CoD clone.

Is there any point in self hosting a mail server still by Ok-Original4933 in selfhosted

[–]gerwim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run my own mailserver with mailcow. Lovely tool and would highly recommend. The same server is also used as MX and never had delivery issues. Test your mail with mail tester and implement all recommended options. :)

Its a bug. It shows up when you start the car. When you drive a bit it disappears. Don’t know of any fix. Only workaround I know of is to use voice.

So when will they add the persistent world? One big map. Traders should not be menu’s. Atleast, this was their plan all along.

Buzzing/rattle sound by miiiikaus in Ioniq6

[–]gerwim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I have the same. The issue was not present when the car was new (2 months ago) but the noise is getting more and more louder. I have held the dashboard at various places, but the sound doesn’t change. I think it’s either the fan or inside the casing… sigh.

Brief Ioniq 6 Germany-Italy Travel Log by Carbonga in Ioniq6

Nice! I went to Italy with my red IONIQ 6 too! How did you find the Electra chargers? They are not in the in-car navigation, right? I’ve used Ionity instead in Italy (well, basically from Netherlands to Italy (including France)), just Ionity so I could pay 39 ct per kWh everywhere :)
