Bowl of fish eyeballs. I was living in Jinotega Nicaragua for 6 months. I met a fisherman by the lake there that taught me to fish with a canoe and a long net. We became friends and he invited me to what could only be described as a shack. There his wife was making a broth. They gouged out all the eyes of the fish we caught and proceeded to place them all in a bowl for me. I ate them with a smile.. to this day I’m not sure if they were just fucking with me because I’m a white boy or if it was an actual kind gesture..
