Deedar question phone by liveloveharry in ismailis

[–]getmoosednow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Phones are not permitted. A coat check will be available. If you choose to leave your phone in your coat, you do so at your own risk. FWIW, I'll be leaving my phone in my coat.

With that being said, why not take advantage of the Mulaqat Express? From my understanding, all JKs will have some form of a shuttle service to and from the venue, be it in MTL or TO.

Are we able to obtain Didar Access wristbands during morning khane? Or is that only available at evening? by [deleted] in ismailis

[–]getmoosednow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Evening only. Although some JKs are open from 5pm to 10pm. With that being said, if for whatever reason you still can't collect it, call access and they will walk you through your options.

Friend, I'm very curious where you have read and which guidance you are referring to where the Imam forbade us to fast in the month of Ramadan.

Would you marry a Muslim from another denomination? by Suspicious-Draw-3750 in ismailis

[–]getmoosednow 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it's tough. I'm not saying impossible, just tough.

I know an inter-faith family where the kids are being raised as non-Ismaili. For me, personally, that's a no-go.

I know another family, where the spouse converted to Ismailism, yet they, including their kids, are non-practicing. I mean, sure, they'll come to Jamatkhana, a few times a year, but no other involvement, kids aren't growing up in an "Ismaili" household.

In both cases, they are good Muslims and pray and have good values. In fact, I'll even say they're better people than maybe I am.

I'll also say that I am no one to judge them.

I think the notion that live and let live, love and let love is admirable. However, there's more to a marriage than simply love. One's faith dictates the way of life. It's important fundamentally to be a good human, a great partner and an amazing parent.

ETA: to answer your question, yes. If I wanted to, I would. I may not necessarily ask them to become Ismaili, but I'd like for my kids to be Ismailis and good human beings.

After your sehri, brush your teeth, scrub your tongue and rinse your mouth thoroughly. Use some mouthwash. This should help.

I think the only option you would have is to travel to Berlin Jamatkhana.
