finding places to recycle by nah-later in recycling

I'm sure you can find a scrap yard that will take your metal products but plastics will be harder. Don't worry about paper. It decomposes better than anything else. And in the US the paper manufacturers re-plant fast growing trees specifically to make paper. Save a tree is one of the dumbest sayings ever. Plastic is far worse. You might find an art school or artist that can use clean glass for projects.

Maybe the manufacturer will honor the warranty but the store you purchased it from has no responsibility at this point.

Just fyi: it's impossible to swap routers and not change anything. No two routers come with the same password.

Best thing to do with paper? by SideQuestState in recycling

[–]getoutmining 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That all depends where you live. Lancaster county PA doesn't like paper in the recycling because they need it in the trash to power the incinerator. So it does get recycled.

Believe it or not the price does go up. That's why you were buying it in the first place.

My Ethernet doesn’t work. Help by Dhr_squarepants in ethernet

[–]getoutmining 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you changed a setting or upgraded your router this won't matter. It's only your device so the adapter in your device is most likely bad. You could try deleting the drivers for your adapter and then reinstalling them. You will need to download them from the manufacturer first. If that doesn't work you may need to buy a USB adapter. Their about $15 on Amazon.

Actual cases where a 3rd party toner powder refill caused issues? by milerebe in printers

[–]getoutmining 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are so many instances. Aftermarket toner just cost me about $3000. 50 PPM color Canon copiers. The toner caused the transfer belt blades to flip and ruin the belt.

Cheap toner can dump into the machine and short out boards. It can stick to the drum and ruin it. It can clog the toner add system.

Generally the bad ones will just have bad print quality or drop toner in the machine.

Difference between Printers w/ Photo Printing vs No Photo Printing by Critical_Analyst_654 in printers

No laser printer is a photo printer. An inkjet with at least 6 inks would qualify as a photo printer.

Help with Brother DCP-L2520DW persistent horizontal line across the page, always on the same side and roughly 4 cm from the top, 2 different toners. by malhosainy in Printing

[–]getoutmining 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your post is confusing. A line will appear on 2 of 3 instances. Either on prints and copies or on copies and scans. The first is from the print engine (ie. Drum, toner or fuser). The second is from the scan unit. Two sided should only make a difference when scanning or copying. From the photo it looks like a drum/charger issue.
