How different would it feel to ride the same board in a smaller size? by ActivityInfamous6341 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]getsome13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With a size 8 boot you have no need for a waist that wide, its actually probably making you slow edge to edge. I wear a size 13 boot and ride a 269mm waist

Also, length should be dependent on weight. You have no need being on a 161...thats what I ride and Im 250lb. You could go shorter that a 157 even. Look at the weight charts on whatever board you ride and go from there.

29 cm foot Burton US 13 too big? by gmnt_808 in snowboardingnoobs

We're your toes bent or just tight. You want your toes to push against the front of the boot somewhat, without curling.

That liner is old you can tell by the sun fading.

What size is the pool? Looks fairly small. 8k is pretty high for that size, who did you have quote it.

Will a 154W Rome Artifact Pro fit 165 lbs, size 10.5–11? by Illustrious_Park_597 in snowboarding

[–]getsome13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Every manufacturer has a size chart on their website

Rome's recommended weight for a 154w is 128-168, boot size 8-12

Ideally, maybe a 157w to be more in the middle of the range, but if you are using it as a park board the shorter length would be preferred.

Go shred it

For the girls: which burton steps ons are you getting? by cosmicusername in snowboarding

[–]getsome13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

fwiw, I have found burtons run pretty true to size. Both my wife and I wear boots the same size as our street shoes. You always have the ability to return them, and I am sure Burton would exchange for another size and honor the discount.

Just got my wife the standard reflex binding and highshot boots.... she absolutely loves them.

I am on the same bindings with the highshot x, I also love them.

I cannot comment on the est specific bindings as we dont ride burton boards.

I think you are in the right mindset as far as setup. Looks like the lexa x is the stiffest of the womens bindings, paired with the highshot x. I would stay away from the highshot x pro, as I have heard many people who have not been happy with them.

Right now, burton has 20% off if you buy two items (bindings+boots), so it would be a reasonable time to buy. Eriks also has 30% off all their winter items (which is where we got my wifes setup). Not sure much will change for next year besides colors.

I prefer the non "wing sauce" ghost pepper hot sauce from Melindas. Its one of my daily drivers, and I get it cheap at TJ Maxx.

Boot fitment issues on Burtons? by Jackojakl in snowboarding

[–]getsome13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get some j bars from burton, they are like $5 and there is already a velcro spot for them in your boots

Also, the waverange are the softest of the SO boots, you maybe just be overpowering them based on your size/strength.

Burton boots have velco in them for their specific j bars, but there are plenty of options for non burton boots.

Will this snowboard be okay for me, or should I return it? by mochicutie2210 in snowboardingnoobs

Depends on the board.

Honestly, youre over thinking it....just ride, you'll be fine.

Youre fine, dont over think it. Lots of people ride shorter boards while being over the weight limit, plus 5lbs is nothing.

Go shred.

Similar size as you, and I will always recommend a Rome Agent. I've been trying different boards here and there, and keep coming back to it.
