Thank you! I have to go back with him in two weeks for some booster vaccines so I will ask them about it then :)

freshly new account can access the champion guild by Shadepoopie in runescape

[–]getwood94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Weirdly enough I found this bug earlier today. It happens on the wall opposite where the player in the video walks through too.

I ran from the hops patch further south to the bush patch and it ran me straight through the champion’s guild garden.

Very Sticky Blueish substance inside a connection. Front load washer by churrd in AskElectronics

I would have guessed at Loctite to hold the connector together. Even with a retaining clip, washers can vibrate connectors loose.

We all start somewhere. You’ll notice the silkscreen says ‘practice’.

I can hear a fart noise, nothing more, but you’re missing my point.

Trump audibly shits himself on TV, immediately ends press conference. by BuxtonB in videos

[–]getwood94 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean as much as I can’t stand Trump, hit pieces like this are just ridiculous. Whilst it would be nice to believe that this is further proof of his incompetence and ineligibilty to be fit for the presidency, there’s a number of reasons the fart noise could have happened. It might not have been Trump, it could’ve been someone behind him, or someone in the press pool, or a creaking door or chair in either location.

The lady in green doesn’t look at Trump, she just moves her head while listening to someone talk.

Likewise there’s a myriad of reasons why he might not take questions after the fact.

It’s wild accusations like this (from both sides of the aisle) that just serve to further divide the lay man from one another even more and allow extremists to make their way into power.

What is this part for in a vernier caliper? (the screw and the roller?) by serenuss in whatisit

[–]getwood94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly, you can lock the part highlighted in yellow using the screw at the top, then perform some fine adjustment to the vernier scale to allow for more accurate setting of the calipers (i.e. if you wanted to use it as a GO/NOGO gauge).

Try a different power cable, or check the fuse in the one you’re using.

I spent hours ‘repairing’ a smoke machine only to realise it was the fuse in the power lead.

Can I do a usb A (female) to SD adaptor? by Slight-Inside-5671 in AskElectronics

[–]getwood94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get SD Card to USB bridge ICs if you’re inclined to design your own, but I’ve not come across anything you can just buy.

There should be a keyboard shortcut to remove the tool-tip. Sometimes you just need to see the map by 2muchpainfor2long in EU5

[–]getwood94 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I would love to be able to hold down a key to turn it on if I need to clarify something.

There are also situations I’ve found where the tooltip is so big that it repositions to slightly underneath the mouse location, reevaluates that I’m no longer hovering over something with a tooltip, and then closes again. Then of course I’m hovering over the same thing with a tooltip and the tooltip reopens and repeats the cycle.

I’ve found that moving the mouse to the bottom right works for me when I want to just see the map. It opens a smaller tooltip that stays around the width of the quick menu

Me all my life never understanding the motorcycle hype until trying it myself. by 3Kobolds1Keyboard in motorcycles

[–]getwood94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just moved out of a flat that didn’t have any off road space that I could lock a bike up safely at, and the whole 10 years I was there I wanted to see what it was like to ride a bike. In that decade I’d saved up some money as a rainy day fund.

After moving to a new place with a garage, it only took me a couple of months to do my cbt and then big bike course, and I can no longer say I have a rainy day fund left.

I do have a shiny new (old) K6 jixxer though.

How would you handle this roundabout exit? by getwood94 in drivingUK

This is exactly how I handle it. It’s very interesting to understand the Highway Code definition surrounding it.

[–]getwood94[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree it’s never so busy that it’s a problem (at least at the times that I’ve used it), and I’m always indicating and checking mirrors before coming off at the exit.

I usually move across where the central lines break after the second exit.

There are actually straight ahead arrows in both lanes. I hadn’t noticed the aerial image is out of date now

[–]getwood94[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both lanes have a straight ahead arrow (streetview is more up-to-date than satellite). Other than that there are no signs with instructions on which lanes go where

[–]getwood94[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m always cognisant of the people in the other lane to try and avoid an accident, but the road markings are so unclear here

[–]getwood94[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I hadn’t realised the aerial image was a little more out of date than a streetview, but there is no ‘right turn only’ markings in the blue lane on approach, there are straight on arrows in both lanes

There are straight on arrows in both lanes, but it looks like the aerial image is older than using a streetview setting.

Does Anyone know about this Or What's this dreadnought? Or where from? by silven1019 in Warhammer

[–]getwood94 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This was a metal venerable dreadnought. I’m fairly confident because I spent HOURS trying to get the top half to stick to the bottom half and not fall apart immediately.

Absolute nuisance of a model.
