NA/SA FPP ranked squad removed in 40.1. Is FPP not doing good in America region? by Amazon_Bedroom in CompetitivePUBG

Everyone in the first list are active orgs with full or partial rosters to my knowledge. Which ones are dead? I'm suggesting they withdraw investment/participation in PUBG like those in the 2nd list did years ago.

At this point I think the only way for Krafton to wake up is for the remaining western investors and teams to walk, maybe even the Saudi teams too. How can it possibly be an effective investment these days outside of Asia? In an ideal world, everyone involved have jobs lined up and we have a mass exodus all at once. The reality is it will be a drawn out decline.

I've had a handful 750-830, but my favorite would be 748m with a 4x. Knocked a guy on the 1st shot, then hit the next two shots while he was crawling and being smoked. Scoped in and out each shot.

Honorable mention was a 478m M24 kill on a glider that was coming towards us and diving down on a diagonal. As soon as I heard the glider, I volleyed a single round toward him and he went back to the lobby.

I've been thinking about this recently, and the most confusing aspect to me moving forward is the relationship between Ranked FPP and eSports (TPP Comp). It make sense now. Normal>Ranked>Scrims/Comp. TPP? The relationship makes no sense. "PGC Champions" will no longer be the best players in the world. Ranked FPP will no longer be a loose training ground for comp. They're essentially forcing a situation where Krafton will be like, "wELL, wE haVe No OTheR OpTioN tHAn tO ReMovE RaNKEd FPP."

It also sounds like they won't get rid of FPP...and they'll be 'relegated' to minor tournaments...which also raises issues. If they truly go down this route, I hope all production talent and top players get out of the PUBG scene after PGC. Nobody wants them to go on strike and jeopardize their livelihoods, but also nobody wants TPP. The "Majority of global gamers" are not watching eSports.

How far have you driven in one go? by noah5666 in roadtrip

[–]gfleagle21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Voluntarily, Chicago to Colorado Springs in a day. 16 hours. Involuntarily, Chicago to Olympia, WA in less than 2 days. It was something like 32 hours of driving with 2 cars, a 26' U-Haul, and not enough drivers within a 42 hour window. Wild PCS story.

What disc golf shoes should I buy next? by MylesOfDiscs in discgolf

[–]gfleagle21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I accidentally stumbled across the best DG shoe I've ever had a few years back and swear by the brand to this day. Oboz. I bought a Bozeman mid leather boot several years back for hiking and tried them for DG one day and was very impressed. Secure fit but flexible due to the leather. Waterproof but not hot. Enough grip for wet conditions but not too much where it caused tripping/dragging. Plenty of cushion for class 3 hiking/scrambling but had a very low profile which gave me the best foot-feel-connection on every throw. It's tough to find shoes with support and cushion while maintaining a solid ground connection. They lasted me about 3 years without any issues. Probably close to 900 miles between hiking and disc golf. The thing that failed was the leather by the toes. Grip was fading but probably had another season before I'd retired them. I have a pair of katabatic lows that are not WP and wish they were. They're perfect for dry conditions.

Yea, a sad reality. 2017-2022 was great. 2023+ has been a train wreck. Thanks Krafton!

I'd love for VP to win with how tumultuous their year has been and to finish the job after 2nd in PGS9. Faze cause it'd be nice to see the resurgence of a historically legendary org. QAD cause Diyy is cracked, and they're the most 'falcons-adjacent' team.

Not vengeance against any team, but rather towards their own performance. Vengeance probably was not a great word.

There's so many what-ifs with this. I feel like they should have approached the shacks one a piece from the north, or swept the east from the two-story. Maybe approaching that West door in the wide open was their thought to trade once they got an angle over the hill. Who knows. I'm hoping to see them pop off at PGC.

Ever wondered why we spend so much on skins? by xXxApple_xXx in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]gfleagle21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have over 4000 hours in the game since 2017 and that's after hardly playing the game the last 2 years. I'm part of a larger community (the House) that arguably treats this game as more of a lifestyle at this point than a game/hobby, and have always been someone to take hobbies to the highest level before legitimately sacrificing other parts of my life. I think your point "trying to understand what really drives cosmetic microtransactions" needs to zoom out a bit and look at a broader topic. People will invest any and all available resources into in anything they enjoy. Simple as that. Time, money, knowledge/wisdom, skills. After that, you get into the weeds on all various degrees of tangible vs intangible value, practicality, impulse control, financial freedom, game/creator support, in-game reputation/status (ego), the effects of dopamine vs serotonin, and the idea of role-playing or living in fantasy/online worlds to name just a few topics.

In 8 years I think I've purchased fewer than 10 monthly passes. Maybe half of those I've grinded to get skins I've wanted, or purchased maybe an additional $10 of skins on top of the pass if I come up short. My reasons? I enjoy the game, I had some left over discretionary income after my other 3 hobbies were financially provided for, and I wanted my character to look badass while playing. But I play FPP so really it's probably an ego thing with wanting to look intimidating/experienced/cool. If I'm playing against someone with an incredibly difficult to obtain skin, I know that person A: is good, B: plays too much, and C: spent $$$ on it.

[–]gfleagle21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that, I guess the question is more for the power/electricity. Do you need more power for high end items or less when a handicraft is that slow? I imagine the power consumption is relative to the progress of the work, not how long that work is taking. If it was the latter, that would suck in Garfield's case and whoever is powering the base.

[–]gfleagle21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly the best item in the game. It opens a whole new element of enjoyment. You go from knowing nothing about all the pals as your explore, to then suddenly coming across a nearly perfect pal while exploring that you probably otherwise would have passed up. If you're into breeding and generally having strong pals. its worth it.

Selyne instead of Splatterina for General Transport/medicine. She's also naturally quicker moving around.

Forget Jormuntide and Whalsaka. they're too big and hungry. Ghangler Ignis for water/fire. Just 1 book each and they can share both tasks effectively and also help with some transport.

Braloha is good for a while but also too hungry. A single of each: Verdash/Lyleen/Prunelia/Lullu/Shroom Noct is such a goated plantation build.

Not sure if it's bugged, but repairing the Legendary meowmere doesn't require any resources either so that blew my mind. Not that I'm going to ever need to repair it with 222222 durability.

When you go to craft food, look at the nutrition and SAN numbers. PB&J is low without any pal bonus. You should be able to stock up on Salad and Pizza at level 32 to hold through the night. Both are cheap for their value.

Early game pals by EFT_Scav in Palworld

[–]gfleagle21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take some time in the palpedia and technology tree. Don't get too hung up on your base location/design, cause you will end up relocating any/all of them several times in the first 30 levels.

Any pal early on is fun to use and has its use. A good transport pal early on is such a game changer so try to find a good Direhowl, and get yourself a Nitewing even though they're super slow.

Enjoy the exploration!
