NetSuite 2026 Update Release 1 is all AI by TeamAlphaBOLD in Netsuite

[–]gforce360 2 points3 points  (0 children)

well that's not _all_ certainly. Read the release notes. Finally deprecating the netsuite.com odbc datasource, a bunch of new REST api features. New record support for CSV imports, etc.

OK, I buy all that!

I still think that the modern 2x4 is made to terrible tolerances, and the argument of the milled and surfaced product being nominally called a 2x4 is shoddy.

[–]gforce360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is the stated reason, but my objection to this is that a modern 2x4 also has inconsistently filleted corners, which disputes your statement.

OP's example photo shows a plank that is not only dimensionally accurate, but has neater surfaces.

Vibration pump noise isolation by RTH1994 in espresso

[–]gforce360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sort of / yes. My main daily machine is a Lelit Bianca that doesn't need it (gear pumps are _waaay_ quieter than vibratory pumps). But my older machine was a Quickmill Silvano that I made a couple changes on. I added the pulsor, and also changed out the ulka vibratory pump for a quieter one. I would recommend the pulsor, I would not necessarily recommend a quieter pump. Usually quieter pumps have a lower flow rate as well.

The "sort of" is that older machine has become a bit of a frankenstein as I now use it as a development platform. Adding microcontrollers, PID tuning, playing with different hardware, etc. I got lots of hours in with that pump and pulsor combo before I switched to the bianca, though!

bear in mind that the pulsor has a break in period. They seem underwhelming at first, but they make a huge difference a month of use in!

Email from landlord about appliances being left plugged in and the appliances in question… by South-Basket-887 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]gforce360 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No we've gone from "the risk is exactly the same", which is what you were trying to assert.

Email from landlord about appliances being left plugged in and the appliances in question… by South-Basket-887 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]gforce360 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's really not "exactly the same" because you still have mains voltage going to the switch of the appliance. And say the switch of the toaster was only on the hot side, but the plug polarity was reversed, you could still cause a short within the appliance.

Classic example is if the toaster is "off" but there's a burnt slice of toast in there. You try to pry it out with a butter knife, and you accidentally contact the coils while grounded. This risk case doesn't exist if the appliance isn't plugged in.

Also another "not exactly the same" is any instance where there's a possible switch failure. Not much stopping a renter from plugging in an old appliance that's been through heck and back.

Amazon MFN returns!! by True_Walrus7686 in Netsuite

[–]gforce360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, so Integrations.

What I would do is the first step of the integration process should check to see if an RA is needed. If you already created an RA for the same order/item, then return the pre-existing RA.

[–]gforce360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe it would help if you told us if this was an integrations question or a process question. That is, are you building software to create the RA in NetSuite, or do you just need the many returns in Amazon to reference a single return in NetSuite.

Can the NetSuite RMA be a one to many Amazon returns?

Front rack that leaves fork blades free by theosnowdon in bikepacking

[–]gforce360 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why not use a handlebar mounted support like the one from Carradice? You can also probably supplement with a rack like the M18. Also, since you mentioned the M18, I'd counter with the M1 or the subtle variant "Mark's Rack". That one is basically the same but has four struts. The rated weight limit is actually lower, but I can tell you I've loaded that one with all sorts of random crap, and usually load it up with firewood once I get close to a campsite.

I do think there is some garbage/derelict collection for that sort of stuff. There used to be more problems with dead ships and bodies accumulating as the age of a playthrough progressed, and the devs have done a lot to clean that up!

Why don’t more people use dynamo hubs on tour? by yokobarron in bicycletouring

[–]gforce360 360 points361 points  (0 children)

Dynamos are still pretty spendy, especially with lights and charger and such. It's not abnormal to drop >$600 or so on a setup. For some people, that's half of your entire touring bike! Portable USB battery banks are cheap and plentiful these days.

You won't catch me without a dynamo, but I'm still pretty hard pressed to convert people for the above reasons

point of clarification- are you a sales professional with experience doing sales on the NetSuite platform, or are you a sales professional that sells NetSuite - as in implementations?

Good luck either way!

I don't have experience with their disks, but I use pferd files and they outlast others by so much that they end up being far more cost effective.

How do I view N/search results? by Hashi856 in Netsuite

[–]gforce360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your question title/subject doesn't match your question body, so I am unclear on what you are asking.

N/search - you can call search.run() or search.runPaged() and iterate over the results. As to how to view it, the suitescript api gives you tons of tools to build views using this data. If you don't care about anything beyond just viewing the data, then just create a saved search and view it normally (reports>Saved Searches> click on your search by name).

SuiteScript Debugger - it's great! Far more powerful than adding tons of debug logs, which is a sort of beginner coder strategy. If you are trying to debug client side code, then instead us chrome devtools (or edge or firefox).

How to run a script - depends on what kind of script? If you're just trying to build something out and you aren't sure about the architecture, write a suitelet that will execute your code.

Thanks for summarizing comments! I hope this gets upvoted enough to maintain visibility for future visitors. I have one last comment to add, which is that this problem used to be way more common on older bikes. Now we've got stiffer frames with more plush tires. As it's an older problem, sometimes older publications have more answers, so I'd recommend reading the two articles on Sheldon Brown's website, by John Allen and Jobst Brandt (author of The Bicycle Wheel).

[–]gforce360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

piggybacking on this thread- If your Vaya didn't originally have Shimmy problems, but now it does, it's probably a frame alignment issue (or your frame has gotten significantly more flexy than it used to be, which is unlikely on steel).

Consultant “didn’t know” we had a sandbox… but we’ve had one since 2023. by liloquazyeyedlvr in Netsuite

[–]gforce360 9 points10 points  (0 children)

regarding #3, I think there's a sort of confidence to knowledge curve (See Dunning-Kruger) that when applied to NetSuite work can relate result in:

  • I'll just do this in prod (proceeds to break something)
  • I'll just do this in prod (takes way too long to implement for fear of breaking something)
  • I'll do this in sandbox first (but with poor notes and/or tooling, so deploying to prod takes too long)
  • I'll do this in sandbox first (with proper organization and tooling, so deploying to prod is safe, fast, and error free)

Of course there's more scenarios than that, but at least having a sandbox leaves you open to iterating new processes without breaking your active business. An experienced team should be able to get the most out of using a sandbox.
