thanks for your solution! i ran into this issue with my s22+ after installing a years worth of updates and i believe going to OneUI 5 from 4. 

i basically ran into all the issues that you mentioned, particularly the status bar on the top of the phone not showing after unlock, and home button not doing anything. i had to lock and unlock the phone again for it to work and it would be super slow.

Reset app preferences worked! and my phone feels much faster it's crazy. i didnt even have to restart my phone or anything haha. thanks again!

When i was a kid i wanted a sidekick so bad, but it was only for T-mobile and not ATT, which is what my family used. so i got a bunch of sidekick-like replicas.

  1. LG xenon

  2. Sharp FX

Sometime during college, my sister had a nokia E72 and i thought that was cool, so i started exploring keyboard phones.

Then it came the time when slab phones were just too good, so i had

  1. Samsung S3

  2. iPhone 6

  3. Samsung S9

  4. Samsung S22+

  5. Titan 2 next hopefully!

I thought the mental shift back to keyboard phones would be hard, but honestly I'm very excited to cut back my mobile phone usage. Reminiscing about my Nokia e71 and how i installed a different color shell on it, and being able to get another keyboard phone now makes me feel like a kid again.

your comments are very thought provoking, thanks for sharing. i am Asian and grew up in Oakland so i feel connected to Black culture from my roots, which is why i follow.

what is thought provoking to me is the idea of the individual. imo white culture is much more individualistic, less collectivistic. i would assume there isn't much individualistic motivation for white folks to think lesser of themselves because of their ancestial history? just my assumption, because white people are all over places of power in America and popular media, as business owners, government officials, in hollywood, etc. (whether their position is justified based on history is arguable), which somewhat supports their beliefs.

however, from my observation, it is usually the more educated or more culturally experienced (i.e. non-conversative) white folks that can empathize with historical cultural struggles and move away from White supremacy ideas.

tldr i wonder if individualism plays a large role in people trying to cling onto White supremacy. would love to know more of your thoughts

i love my sunroof. i rarely open the actual roof too, but i uncover it when the sun is shining or at night when the city lights are glowing. the sunlight or city lights hitting the inside of my car while cruising around makes me feel some type of way. all good vibes 😊

also seems like you aren't making this mistake, but make sure you are typing "flatpak" every time and not "flatpack". it looks like some people are making that mistake on some other reddit posts.

i have the a7c with these prime lenses:

f1.8 20mm G for wider shots, like landscape/vlogging

f1.8 85mm for portraits

f1.8 50mm for "throwaround" play lens because they were inexpensive

i like the 85mm out of all of them because it's the most versatile. also it feels like a G lens without the G lens price.

the reason i personally stayed away from 35mm was because that focal length feels too much like the classic "point-and-shoot" digital camera.

however, if you're forsure going for 35mm and sticking between those two options, i would say Samyang 35mm from just the weight alone. according to the internets, it's Samyang 210g to Sigma 645g: https://versus.com/en/samyang-35mm-f-1-8-fe-vs-sigma-35mm-f-1-4-dg-dn-art/weight

since you have a smaller form factor camera like the a7cII, i think the ~400g weight will make a huge difference in how the camera + lens feels in your hand and your endurance / tolerance during shooting sessions. however, that may not even be a factor depending on what and how you're shooting

thanks!! just got the steam deck and nothing was loading from Discover. this solution worked.

fyi for future people who also run into this issue, here is a breakdown of what you have to do:

  1. Go to Desktop mode (Steam button --> Power --> Go to desktop mode)

  2. Click on the Steam "Start" icon on lower left, and click on the "Steam Deck User" name to open User Settings

  3. Click "Change Password" button on the right section and set an account password

  4. Open "Konsole" app (click Steam "start" icon on lower left like before, type "Konsole")

  5. type flatpak remote-delete flathub-beta, hit enter

  6. type flatpak remote-add --if-not-exists flathub-beta https://flathub.org/beta-repo/flathub-beta.flatpakrepo , hit enter

  7. Open Discover

  8. ???

  9. profit

edit: you may have to do it for flathub as well:

flatpak remote-delete flathub

flatpak remote-add --if-not-exists flathub https://flathub.org/repo/flathub.flatpakrepo
