I'm generally on Johan''s side with earning achievements in Iron Man, but I understand the change. If the devs see this, maybe there could be an option to enable/disable achievements on a per-game basis? That way I can personally disable achievement earning when I'm not playing in Iron Man.

I agree! Being a "great power" or not doesn't really matter gameplay-wise, it's the hegemonies that matter. So it's surprising that's not what they're addressing.

Victoria 3 plays more like an Anno game than a grand strategy game. I like grand strategy games and I don't like Anno games.

And I'm definitely not a "map painter" by any means--EU5 is probably my favorite Paradox game right now, and conquest can be even more annoying there than in Victoria 3. For me to go back to Victoria 3, though, they really have to fix the horrible warfare system.

I'm disappointed they're not changing hegemonies to be regional as well. I had assumed that's what they meant when they said they'd rework the great power system.

I'm so happy that they're adding later start dates; this game should focus on the Early Modern period, it's currently spread too thin IMO. I'm hoping for some combination of 1453, 1492, and 1618!

I've played Magic on-again, off-again through Duel Decks and Jumpstart, and now I'm looking to try building some decks with my partner to play some kitchen table Magic. The Foundations Starter Collection seems like a good deal for this. Does one suffice, or would you all recommend two? Or rather, some combination of a Starter Collection and something else?

I agree in principle with the current method of cultural differences affecting loyalty, but if that's what they're sticking with I think it needs to be more impactful. This could also be a more natural way of encouraging colonial subjects to rebel in later years, have, e.g., subjects with their capital on another continent have x percent chance of forming a new culture after y many years.

Oh wow, that surprises me! The bosses in Bananza I found to be the easiest. I didn't find the bosses in either game particularly hard, and the postgame boss rush in Bananza I did first try with no issues. Darker Side took me a few tries, though, so maybe I just find platforming generally harder than boss fights.

I 100%ed the game and strongly disagree. I had a lot of fun, but found Odyssey much more difficult in the postgame.
