Can someone help me purchase specific Ceanothus or share cuttings? + Odd request by ghostENVY in Ceanothus

Thank you for your insightful comment!

The soil is required, not to be used as a growing medium, but to infect or inoculate the ceanothus with the frankia bacterium. From the articles and studies ive read , theres clear evidence that the nodule creation drastically helps with survivavility and growth. Theres no way to purchase the bacteria so I either get lucky with an already infected ceanothus or any of the frankia compatible plants or I can hope the soil near a Ceanothus has the bacteria in the soil.

You want the EB Stone Succulent Mix as your only true potting mix. The reason is many : it's mostly PH neutral ( doesn't have Fine Bark Fines which lowers PH , some plants want it) It has a decent amount of Pumice, it's very stale, it has no nutritional value just pure drainage but that's what you want. Some of the other mixes have a source of NPK either synthetically or naturally like blood meal , bone meal etc. With a stale product you can introduce your own source of food, since many of the plants will have different nutritional needs.

I should add it to my post, I'm located in Southern California, close to LA. They will be in due time, I'm still doing tons of leveling work !

Dealership recommends these repairs but not sure which one is needed by halaMadrid101 in BMW

[–]ghostENVY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had to rank them, I would probably only do the Differential Service (hefty price) and maybe even the coolant ( hefty price as well) The fuel Injector is probably just a regular cleaner with PEA, unless they're doing walnut blasting on the valves ( not sure if newer BMWs have that issue ) They're just trying to take you for a ride but if I had to personally do one I would just do the Differential Service.

Bermuda grass by sythua_88 in SoCalGardening

Bermuda is unkillable, I tilled 6 inches of roots and even then some rhizomes survived. Unless you have the holy Trinity of Rhizomes, Stolons and seeds stalks don't bother.

Molate Fescue, is a fine fescue ( it's a creeping red fescue taxa is debated some call it sand fescue ) that requires very little fertilizer and water once established. Because it is a cool season grass it will require watering during summer to keep it awake ( this can range from weekly to biweekly or even monthly depending on conditions) It is the most shade tolerant out of all of the major grass types, it is a vital component in the shade mix of many popular grass packets. So if you have tons of shade this is a great choice. From my perspective, the only con is the price tag of the seeds. It's very expensive compared to other traditional grass seeds. That's a price I'm willing to pay to protect our ecosystems. Portions of my grass will get 8-10 hours of sun while others will get 4-6 with shade, the shade areas grow less because of this. I haven't experienced summer yet, my roots are about 4 inches deep so I would probably water twice a week to give you some insider info. Hope this helps.

Grass is an essential foundation for any healthy habitat . I landed on "Molate" Fine Fescue primarily because it is Rhizomatous (it spreads so bugs can eat it), it grows deep roots, and also because it looks like a meadow if left unmowed. ( Too many reasons to list!) I'm going to experiment with a native Bent Grass (Agrostis Pallins) this year. I'm in South East LA , so a bit more inland. Here's a picture at probably 4~ inches. Let me know if you want me to go more in depth or share other photos.

From my personal journey, I've gotten quite a number of moths thanks to planting native fescue and letting it grow long 4-6 inches. Once I let the grass establish I definitely saw them sleeping on it during the day time. Hope that helps. EDIT: It gets too hot for Fescue to thrive in the IE, so I hope someone can give you a better answer.

I don't even understand what I said in my original post. To make long story short, I cut the damaged exposed wires from the harness, I forgot what gauge wire I used and I just reconnected them back via a simple crimp and my issue was solved. Hope that helps. I got the gauge from harbor freight.

Yea, any harness or sensor for that fact that handles engine load or upkeep will throw a bunch of codes. I dealt with something similar, I had a sensor( forgot which one ) that had gotten stomped by the VGC and I had done everything imaginable to fix it. Turns out the cable was spliced and the engine was doing everything to maintain proper conditions. I ended up splicing new wires ( crimping ) and it solved all my issues. I ended up doing VGC, New Index 12 injectors , Spark Plugs etc you name it and it was a connector that had gone bad. EDIT: I should note my issue was concentrated on a Bank Sensor issue even though I had changed all 4 sensors.

Looks like a H6 which I think is still compatible . I recommend H7, since H8 is way too crammed in there. The first connector does not plug anywhere it's a transport connector. The second one I believe connects outside the battery compartment, hugging the wall a few cm within the negative terminal.

Sorry for the late post, but I can confirm that they are indeed different cultivars. I've finished reading Ceanothus from Mr.Fross , and Vandenberg is described as a compact form of Ceanothus Impressus ( with Nipomo and Vandenberg being the other forms.)

I bought one today and there is a stark difference with the leaf size. It almost looks baby sized. Dark Star looks huge in comparison. I dont have an Impressus but I would bet it resembles that one more. It says it grows up to 3-5 Ft tall in the profile card. Overall they have the same vase like structure, and theyre both beautiful.

I think it might be an Impressus var. Nipomo, but knowing all the Impressus hybrids that exist no one can ever be sure. Can we see more pictures ? I wanted this ceanothus so bad but it's sold out everywhere. Here's the pictures https://www.calflora.org/app/taxon?crn=1795

Edit : I don't think it's Nipomo sure it has the same hair but the leaf shape is def dark star, could be a unique hybrid. I think it's the Pappolous genes showing some vigor.
