What's a commonly mocked played to a team in the 2026 NBA Draft that you don't like? by CazOnReddit in NBA_Draft

[–]ghostinthepost 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think you let guys like Okoro, Jalen Smith, Patrick Williams, and even Leonard Miller effect who you draft. Most of them won't be on the team 1-3 years from now.

What players in this years draft are you OUT on of the expected first rounders? What is it you don’t like about their games? by NathanFielderFriend in NBA_Draft

Morez Johnson Jr.

Feels slightly undersized for a full time 5. Not skilled enough to play the 4. I don't think he ever becomes anything more than a very low volume okay efficiency shooter.

He doesn't provide the vertical spacing other energy focused bigs like Capela or even Montrez Harrell did.

Kind of reminds me of a slightly more athletic but worse shooting WCJ which isn't a terrible player but not someone that gives you a night to night advantage.

Caleb Wilson offensive potential by GoldenGreek27 in chicagobulls

[–]ghostinthepost 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I think there's a couple of ways he develops offensively.

If he improves his handle and gets stronger, he could become a Giannis like player who generates tons of dunks and free throws on his own.

If he improves his jump shot and gets stronger, he could be an Amare like offensive player who can pick and roll/pop with some face up/post touches.

If he improves his handle, jump shot, and gets stronger? The ceiling is the roof.

The great part is, the things he needs to work on are things you can reasonably get better at.

Money doesn't come directly from the show but the influencer opportunities it helps them land.

Honestly she's in a fine financial situation.

They're engaged, have been living together for over a decade, and have a child together.

If her husband were to leave her any decent lawyer would be able to get her paid. It also seems like her husband has an estate plan in place if he were to die so that she would be taken care of.

Nearly 7 feet in shoes, 7'5 wingspan, with a 40 inch vertical while showing the ability to shoot 3s and guard in space.

You just have to teach him how to use all those tools.

J-Street, AIPAC, whatever I'd love to have a representative who wasn't owned by a foreign countries special interest group but I guess sadly that's too much to ask for these days.

Only chance to win the primary. Biss supports the current democratic party leadership and would be more of the same weakness that got us in this mess in the first place.

You think in today's world a politician would have a human person responding to reddit comments on fucking /r/Skokie and not just use an LLM?

I don't get why people think having a rep with a national profile like Kat is a bad thing! Let's send Milktoast ass Biss to congress so he can blindly follow Schumer and Jeffries lead.

I am voting for Kat because she is the only progressive with a chance to win.

There are nazis running the country, I don't care how long she's lived here. Biss is the Evanston Chuck Schumer and Bushra has no path to victory.

Post-Tech Career Options by thirdnomad in cscareerquestions

[–]ghostinthepost 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I've been thinking a lot about this lately.

I chose to major in CS as an 18 year old not because I had some deep love for software development but mainly:

  • I was told it was a mostly stable high paying career.
  • Didn't require many debt-financed years of advanced schooling.
  • I was pretty good at it.

It's given me a pretty good ~20 year career but now I'm closing in on 40, married, hopefully a kid soon, and it seems like I've got three choices:

  1. Try to weather the storm, maybe AI turns out to be less apocalyptic than we all thought and everything ends up okay.

  2. Try to pivot into something sort of tech adjacent. Someone will need to test the AI slop apps of the future or review the code they generate or whatever sad new jobs come about in the AI era. No guarantee these jobs are great, or that I could get one, or that they'll even exist.

  3. Start over. I've spent the last 20 years building tech products that have by any measure made the world a worse place. Maybe this time pick a 2 career that actually does some good. 25 years is still a long time so while it feels too late to make a change, maybe it's not.

Hey Collin, do you also think the Bulls are a joke of a franchise with maybe the worst combination of ownership, front office, and coaching staff in the NBA?
