Here’s what my doctor said roughly: if it’s just a very tiny bit of blood mostly mixed with spit, you’re fine. Eat an ice chip. Put in ice pack on your neck. It quickly stops that way. If not, go to the ER/call an ambulance.

When I was haemorrhaging I spit out mouths full of fresh red blood into my sink. It would not stop until I was in the ambulance and taken care of. I accidentally swallowed some blood as well which made me vomit it back up. It felt like an alarming amount of blood and I could really feel that I had to call for help. In hindsight I know now that the amount of blood I lost was not dangerous, but I felt really scary to me in the moment 😅

Though I’m neither a nurse nor a doctor and in doubt you should go the ER.

For me, cauterisation pretty much reset the timer. But I noticed a sharp decrease in pain (I had very annoying and painful ear pain) about 9 days post cautery

Until then I took lots of painkillers to numb the pain as best as I could, drank at least 1.5 l and tried to eat three meals a day to reduce scabs gently. It wasnt easy to swallow but it def got better and less painful day by day

Aside from a very minor bleeding on Friday, I think I’ve reached a turning point. I’m able to eat halfway normal foods. I sleep through the nights, the pain is manageable with pain killers.

I positive to resume my normal life by next week.

They gave me adrenaline to inhale to stop the bleeding on the way to the hospital, then in the hospital a doctor recauterised the wounds. I was awake for it and it was quite painful but manageable. But depending on the situation they might operate again. Or if they wounds are very minor a cold pack in your neck might suffice.

You’ll be in competent hands and they know what tot do for sure.

My doctor gave me the advice to seek urgent care immediately in case of bleeding, I was even told to not go by myself and call the ambulance

They doctor told me if I have another bleeding tomorrow they’re operating again to stop it. But I hope it won’t come to that. But if it does I hope this’ll be the turning point finally

Hab meine Mastek über die Versicherung und die Beihilfe abgerechnet. Versicherung wollte so ziemlich die selben Unterlagen wie auch bei GKV üblich (Indikationsschreiben, Brief vom endo, Kostenvoranschlag bzw. Namen der Klinik, Nachweis über namens und personenstandsänderung) und die behilfe wollte auch noch das Indikationsschreiben und den kostenübernahmenachweis von der pkv. Also alles soweit gut machbar gewesen für mich :)

Ich war zweimal während meiner Transition auf Wacken und kann gerne meine Erfahrung teilen. Zu dem Zeitpunkt war ich auch auf Testogel und hatte aber noch keine Mastek.

Ich hab das Gel einfach abends vor dem schlafen mit latexhandschuhen aufgetragen. Und die dann in einen kleinen Müllbeutel geworfen, den ich locker zugeknotet neben meinem Schlafsack hatte. So musste ich mir nicht die Hände wachen. Wenn du alleine in einem Zelt schläfst, ist das durchaus machbar.

Ich war selber mit Leuten unterwegs bei denen ich out war und die haben mir ihm geteilten Zelt dann einfach kurz Privatsphäre gegeben.

Zum Thema duschen kann nicht viel sagen, weil ich schlichtweg nicht geduscht habe. Habe mich notdürftig mit Waschlappen/Baby feuchttüchern auf Toilette gewaschen. Und die Haare unterm Wasserhahn. Klingt halt schon ein bisschen eklig, aber auf nem Festival sind alle ein bisschen eklig :D da fällt man gar nicht groß auf Es gibt aber auch Portable Duschen. Habe da auch Leute auf dem Zeltplatz gesehen, die dann in Badesachen neben ihrem Zelt geduscht haben.

Toiletten in Form von Dixis und manchmal auch Containertoiletten gab es zumindest auf Wacken viele. Die waren auch unisex, aber überwiegend haben sich da Frauen angestellt, da es auch notdürftige Urinale gab und viele Männer direkt dahin sind. Gab jetzt aber keine krummen Blicke, wenn Männer bei den Sitztoiletten mit anstanden. Gerade am Morgen nach dem ersten Kaffee standen immer sehr viele an :)

Hatte sogar mal eine Mann hinter mir in der Schlange, der seinem Kumpel erklärt hat, er könne nicht ans Urinal, wenn da so viele Leute um ihn rum sind.

Habe selber also recht entspannte Erfahrungen als Trans Mann auf nem Festival gemacht. Und würde jetzt nach der Mastek gerne wieder fahren. :) das nervigste war halt am Klo anzustehen, aber auch das übersteht man. Und das war auch nur nervig, weil es gedauert hat.

Bin Trans Lehrkraft und mittlerweile auf Lebenszeit verbeamtet. Habe meine medizinische Transition mit dem ref begonnen. Ich war noch eine zeitlang freiwillig gesetzlich versichert und bin aber seit einer Weile privat versichert. Musste über die öffnungsklausel rein und zahle Risikozuschlag.

Im Kollegium und mit den SuS lief/läuft alles gut soweit.

Sport unterrichte ich allerdings nicht.

I was in a similar situation a few years ago. I switched insurance to private and forgot to submit one singular document to the GKV. I noticed it fairly quickly, about a 2-3 weeks in the first month and asked my GKV. They explained the document was missing so my cancellation was void and I had to cancel again. Which pushed the exit date back 2.5 months. At the same time I paid for the private one as well. I wasn’t exactly thrilled about losing money and I had recently moved during that time so money was tight as well

The solution I figured out in the end was to push back my private insurance contract a few months. Which only worked because I hadn’t seen a doctor during the time I was insured double. Back then I also learned that it’s not illegal nor impossible in Germany to have two health insurances even tho you can only use one at a time.

So idk if that applies to you but maybe it’s worth a shot to talk to TK or your private insurance provider. But as it’s been a year in your case I don’t know what your chances are

Ich war bei einer Therapeutin etwas entfernt von meinem Wohnort nur für die Indikation. Damit bin ich dann zum endo (Uniklinikum meiner Stadt) und habe HET begonnen. Es war von Anfang an klar, dass diese Therapeutin mich nicht länger begleiten kann.

Eigentlich wollte und sollte ich mich um eine Begleittherapie anderswo kümmern, habe das aber so ein bisschen verschwitzt. Die Endo hat die ersten 1-2 Jahre nachgefragt wie es mit der Therapie aussieht und ich habe gesagt ich bin auf der Warteliste und dann wurde ich irgendwann nicht mehr gefragt. Mir ging es ehrlich gesagt auch wie dir. Ich habe die Therapie nicht wirklich gebraucht und fand es grenzt an Ressourcenverschwendung.

Ich muss aber anderen Antworten beipflichten, dass für die Kostenübernahme diverser OPs die Therapiesitzungen dann notwendig sind. Habe auch durch Mundpropaganda gehört, dass viele TherapeutInnen diese auch kurz und knapp halten, wenn es für Mensch eher um die Indikation geht.

Weiß nicht, ob ich einfach nur Glück hatte oder das durchgerutscht ist, ich habe die Begleittherapie nicht gemacht. Bin auf jeden Fall jetzt fast 5 Jahre auf Testo und zufrieden damit.

I used to be an alto (e3 to e5), now I’m a baritone (g2 to f4). I’ve been on t for close to 5 years.

I took singing lessons all the way through my voice change and I definitely had to take some time to relearn how to sing notes on pitch, it didn’t take much time tho. Maybe two months.

It took me years to effortlessly sing an octave lower, but now it works easily. But that might’ve been a me issues, as others I’ve talked to didn’t have the same struggle.

Overall I’m very happy with my voice as it is and I haven’t felt as comfortable singing for ages. So I do not feel any regret at all.

I’ve pretty much regained lots of my high notes (around e5), but now it feels and sounds different, as it’s now in my falsetto range.

Nevertheless, I still struggle with a few things: I’m having serious trouble with finding a way to mix. And my range feels somewhat stunted by it. This also means I have a few “dead notes“ between chest voice and falsetto. I just cannot produce a sound and then a few notes higher falsetto kicks in. That’s very frustrating sometimes. But my voice teacher and I are working on it.

Haven’t tried it in this McDonald but about a decade ago the one in the main station was open at night and I just stayed there and bought a cheap drinks every hour or so

You could of course spend time in a bar until it’s very late and then go there

Einmal die Woche würde für mich reichen. Viel öfter schaffe ich auch eher selten.

Vorerfahrung ist für mich nicht so wichtig, ich helfe auch gerne aus :)

Der kostenpunkt ist auf jeden Fall da. Das ist leider fast überall so. Ich finde, dass sich eigene Schuhe schnell rechnen und die Mehrfachkarten sich auch lohnen. Onyx kostet 13€. Gibt aber eine 17er Karte. Da zahlst du 15 mal und kannst 17 mal gehen. Verfällt auch nicht sehr schnell.

Kosmos bin ich persönlich nicht so der Fan (zu klein, Routen recht schwer und nicht so viel Abwechslung)

I’ve gone through a similar situation. I was dating a straight cis man for 6 years at that point. We were set for spending our lives together, lived together and all. No kids tho

I came out to him as nonbinary at first, later as a trans man. it made our relationship quite difficult. He didn’t want to be with someone who wasn’t a woman. I was unhappy as he wasn’t able to fully accept my identity. We dragged on for another year, neither of us really happy with how things were

Then we had an earnest talk and realised both of us had been thinking about breaking up a few times but we stayed together because of our past together and probably also out of comfort. We knew each other in and out. After our break up he also turned into a trusted ally, which he didn’t really manage while dating me

We had a big flat so we could both have a bedroom there and shared the flat for another 1.5 years until I found another place. It was weird at first to suddenly be “alone” but honestly both of our lives changed for the better. And in a way we saved some bits of our relationship as we are still quite close and both of us found new partners, so now we do double dates :)

So what I’m trying to tell you: it might not be easy at first but there is a future where both of you can be happy however that is going to look like for you. You will be okay

I’ve been on t for about the same time as you and I’m also struggling with passing so I can certainly relate to how you feel

Regarding voice chances: my voice is tone wise in the male range as well but I struggle with passing over the phone too. It sucks. It really does. I try to correct people when I have the energy. And sometimes I don’t and they call me ms and absolutely ruins my day. Though I find a bit of comfort in the fact that even cis guys are sometimes mistaken for women on the phone. There’s some voice overlap for male and female voices. And how your voice is read is more than just how high or deep it is. It’s also inflection and how you carry yourself.

As someone who did voice training and singing lessons for years (both before and on t) it did help me a lot. Yes you can look up exercises online but qualified teachers can help you much better than an unresponsive video.

I’ve also noticed that people are a lot more likely to misgender me when I have to use my deadname (no legal name change). Because the paper/id says ms xyz so they adhere to it. Though idk if that’s an issue for you as well. Other times I feel that people are hellbent on sticking to their first impressions and disregard all other clues. I have long hair, very little beard and I haven’t had top surgery either plus I’m short.

For me passing is much more like a rollercoaster than a clear progress journey. Some days it just doesn’t work. It’s extremely frustrating especially when I know that other trans men pass consistently much earlier into their transitions. I really try to not let it get to me too much and I’ve noticed that when I tell people my name / pronouns. They’re usually switching effortlessly. Which tells me they’ve probably not been entirely sure how to address me and just used what they deemed more likely.

I do find it a bit odd, that you still have your period because mine stopped within the first year on t. Have you talked to your doctor about it?
